SJCE conversion to JSS has not degraded the value of the course or the degree. These are said to be rumors spread by rival institutions. Let me share some of the facts which might clear your views regarding the institution.
It is suggested that you do not go by rumors spread by rival institutions. You can definitely put your trust in SJCE, as it stands strong as one of the notable educational institutions in Karnataka.
If you fail in a subject in the final year of Engineering at VTU, you will get a year back. You will have to wait another year to clear the subject. You won’t get your degree until you clear all the subjects.
Attaching a video for reference to understand the process
However, the final year subjects are easier compared to the rest of the year engineering subjects. You can clear the subjects easily if you put in a little bit of effort.
You don't start the CSE syllabus right away in the first year. Math, electronics core topics, English, and other subjects are common. You should read the foreign writers suggested for applied math and sciences. Foreign books usually go into great detail about a topic and are of far higher quality than local publications. I would advise you to use them for your preparation.
Here are some of the recommended books.
For chemistry cycle-
For Physics Cycle-
For CPP, your college will help you out with the notes. These are the authors that you can refer to during your 1st year. There is no need to refer to any books for EVS.
Yes, you can change internal marks if you are writing the back paper in the next semester’s exams. Internal marks are sent to VTU before the results are declared and the college displays the marks allotted to be cross-checked for any errors before sending the finalized marks.
Students can take up the internals and increase the marks before appearing for a second attempt.
But if you are applying for external revaluation and want some increase in internal marks, that is not possible.
If you are getting admission into a reputed college, it’s better to choose autonomous rather than VTU The syllabus and the academic calendar are made by the college. The course structure is flexible enough for pursuing internships and other courses.
VTU syllabus is old and outdated. The coursework also doesn’t leave much time for doing anything other than academics.
Reva University is a very reputed institute and is much better than VTU in terms of course curriculum, faculty, and placements.
Hence, Reva University will be a better institute than VTU in terms of almost everything and you can enjoy your college life better at Reva University.
This question is extremely challenging to address. However, by examining a few statistics, you can determine which university is superior.
First and foremost, both of these institutions are Technical Universities for their respective states. If VTU is the Technical University of Karnataka, Anna is the Technical University of Tamil Nadu. This means that all engineering institutions in the state (colleges and not deemed or private universities) are affiliated with these Universities (with very few exceptions). In 1978, Anna University in Chennai was established as a separate university. Anna University was founded 44 years ago. VTU was founded in 1998 as a full-fledged technical university, and it is now 24 years old.
When it comes to student satisfaction at both of these universities, Anna University receives more positive feedback than VTU. In addition, in terms of university controversies and irregularities, VTU has had many problems, corruption, chaos, and friction in the last decade, whereas Anna University has been more peaceful, regular, and flawless in recent times. Anna University is the only technical university in India that has awarded the most PhDs, whereas VTU Ph.D. is a never-ending process due to the University's extreme irregularities. Anna University has some disadvantages, but it is slightly better than VTU.
I have a few friends from VTU and according to them, you can check the status of your transcript on the official website of the institute.
I hope this information is useful.
