IIM Udaipur is a prestigious and exceptional institute that offers a comprehensive MBA program. IIM Udaipur is one of the 20 IIMs that have been established in India. The institute, which was founded in 2011, is located on 300 acres of land in the picturesque city of Udaipur, Rajasthan. The beautiful city of Udaipur provides an ideal backdrop of heritage and history for the institute to make a distinct mark in the region's management education. AACSB-accredited, the institute currently offers a two-year full-time MBA program, two one-year MBA programs, and a doctoral program in management.
IIMU's infrastructure is excellent, with Wi-Fi available throughout the campus. Every cluster has Wi-Fi, and students have access to a well-equipped library as well as online library resources. On campus, there is also a gymnasium and medical services.
The MBA class of 2022 had a 100% placement rate, with 315 students participating in the placement drive. For Finance, IIM Trichy is the best option. It has a great faculty base for this domain. Most of the faculty members are from IIM ABC. It is among the handful of B-School in India that has an association with CFA.
According to the highlights of IIM Trichy placements 2021, 15% of the placement offers were made from the finance sector. The average CTC offered by the recruiters from this sector was INR 17.67 LPA.
The report in question was published in 2017, and I can’t comment on its authenticity. But my brother is pursuing his MBA from IIM Udaipur, so I can tell you about the current placement scenario.
IIM Udaipur follows the IPRS standards in publishing its placement report. The report is audited to make sure of the same. In simple terms, the placement report contains information only about one year's salary of the candidates, and gives a thorough breakdown between base pay and variable pay.
Elements like ESOPs or Bonuses, that are receivable after a certain period of employment, are not mixed up with the regular pay details. IIMU does not inflate the figures when publishing its summer internship and final recruitment data.

All the 3 baby IIMs namely IIM Udaipur, Ranchi, and Trichy are the top 3 among the new IIMs, so if you choose one over the other, it usually is a matter of personal preference. As far as I know, Udaipur fares better in terms of international rankings like QS, FT, and also NIRF in research, etc. This speaks highly of the future potential the institute has. In terms of placements, IIM Ranchi is a better choice. Here is a table with a comparative analysis of the 2 institutes.

In most ways, IIM Udaipur and IIM Kashipur are similar. In terms of infrastructure, Kashipur had the first permanent building. But now Udaipur has as well. In terms of faculty, there isn't much of a difference; both are world-class in this regard.
Now comes the most crucial fact placement. Both are nearly identical in this case. Placement in the BFSI sector is the same in both. Kashipur is only four hours from Delhi and is located in a better industrial hub, so opportunities in sales and marketing are better. However, placement in the IT, consulting, and analytic sectors is better in Udaipur.
It is true that, at the moment, IIM Kozhikode is regarded as being a more powerful institution than IIM Udaipur. This is most likely due to the fact that IIM Kozhikode has been in operation for a longer period of time and has had more time to build its reputation and resources. However, it is important to note that this comparison is not entirely fair because IIM Udaipur is a relatively new institution with less time to develop than IIM Kozhikode.
In the long run, things could change and IIM Udaipur could eventually compete with IIM Kozhikode on a level playing field. This would almost certainly necessitate IIM Udaipur continuing to invest in its resources and reputation, while also ensuring that IIM Kozhikode does not continue to outpace it. Furthermore, it would necessitate IIM Kozhikode to slip from its position of relative strength, which is not guaranteed.
It is important to note that when comparing institutions, it is important to consider more than just their reputation or past performance. Other factors to consider include location, campus culture, industry connections, and the quality of faculty and students. Finally, it is up to each student to determine which institution is the best fit for them.
MDI Gurgaon is the better option among the two because of its location, placements, and even for the competitions and live projects that it offers.

The main question that arises is “When is this going to happen?”. Therefore, it is important to understand that IIM Udaipur has not yet achieved the mark to be compared with colleges like MDI, Gurgaon.
It all depends on you – if you want to invest in the long shot and be recognized as one of those students who were a part of the early alumni or you would want to invest in an already established institution and make the most of your course.

Both VGSoM (IIT Kharagpur) and IIM Udaipur are highly reputable institutions with strong reputations in their respective fields. However, VGSOM is known for its strong focus on technology and engineering and lacks an environment conducive to Management studies. IIM Udaipur on the other hand is known for its business and management programs. The IIM tag is a strong advantage for IIM Udaipur, and an MBA in marketing from an IIM is highly valued in the job market.
Moreover, IIM Udaipur ranked 81 in the Financial Times Global rankings and should be preferred over IIT Kharagpur in my opinion. The branch value of the MBA program plays a major role in shaping your career so make sure you choose it after deep research and analysis. IIT Kharagpur is an excellent brand for B.Tech, but not so much for MBA. In fact, the whole ambiance is different.
Ultimately, the decision on which college to join will depend on your interests, goals, and career aspirations. It is important to do your own research and consult with professionals in both fields to make an informed decision.
