While IIIT Bhubaneswar is best for engineering and coding culture, IIITDM Jabalpur is good in extra-curricular activities, and NIT Srinagar is a premier institute of northern India. All the above aspects should be considered while making a choice.

You should not make a decision based on the placement records of any institute. It should come last on the criteria list. It is a known fact that no college can guarantee you placement. Your decision should be based on your ultimate aim. If coding is your thing, go for IT, ECE, CS, or if you feel that you might someday work at PSUs, go for the core branch.

• Once you decide on a college and realize that core is your thing, you can study ESE and prepare for GATE at BIT Sindri. 
• It would be wrong to state that it doesn't provide an authentic code environment. But it doesn't match the level of IIIT Bhubaneswar. 
• I have friends who study CS and IT there. They have told me that labs are not good and the college is devoid of a wifi connection too.
• Talk about IIIT Bhubaneswar or BIT Sindri, both the institutes fall under the State Government. 
• Plus, getting into IIIT Bhubaneswar can push you to witness national-level competition as you'd be required to crack the JEE Mains to get into it. 
• The quality of the faculty has become better, hostels are providing better facilities and the old buildings have been renovated into new hostels.

Being a government institute, any degree pursued at IIIT Bhubaneshwar holds a lot of value in everybody’s eyes. As it is an old institute as well, the faculty is quite educated and experienced in its way of teaching and delivery methods. Their methods are well-tested and very effective for their students.

The institute believes a lot in practical approach and this is the reason why labs and other rooms are very well-maintained as well as up to date for its students. The entire campus is also Wi-Fi-enabled which makes it easier for students to study online. Though to take admission in the IT branch of IIIT Bhubaneshwar, one might need to reconsider his/her financial position as pursuing at IIIT Bhubaneshwar is quite expensive.

Being in a city that is also a hub of big company’s headquarters like Tata, IIIT Bhubaneshwar also ends up providing a lot of job as well as internship opportunities to its students, especially of the IT branch. The placement rate offered by the institute to its students is also fairly good and satisfying.

UIET Chandigarh:-

• The admission is based on the valid score of 75% marks in 10+2 with physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
• The candidates must have a valid score in JEE Main. 

IIIT Bhubaneswar:-

• The minimum marks required is 60% marks in 10+2. 
• The candidate must have a valid JEE Main score.

Placements:-

Many companies visit both these colleges and offer dream jobs to the students. The placement department of both the colleges work rigorously to get as many companies as possible. IIIT Bhubaneswar offered 95% placement in the engineering department. Amazon offered the highest package of INR 31 LPA to two of the students of UIET Chandigarh.

The top recruiters are Amazon, Cognizant, Accenture, IBM, Samsung, L&T Infotech, Capgemini, Tech Mahindra, Paytm, Mindtree, Dell, TCS, etc.

Both these colleges provide a better scope with good placements. It is upon the students which college they would like to opt among these two. However, IT from IIIT Bhubaneswar is preferred than CSE/IT from UIET Chandigarh.

IIIT Bhubaneswar comes under the listing of IIIT institutes of India. All institutes listed under IIT are funded as well as established by the government of India but this is not the case for institutes listed under IIIT. They are semi funded by the government and the other half is funded by private companies and firms.

The placement rate offered by the institute lies between 90 to 100 percent. Though, students seeking admission in IIIT Bhubaneswar should reconsider their financial position as the fees demanded by this institute is quite high.

The CSE department is the best at IIIT Bhubaneswar. The institute intakes students into the M.Tech programs through GATE. The eligibility criteria for MTech in CSE is a B.Tech in a relevant field and valid score in GATE exam. The GATE cutoff in the closing round in 2019 for CSE was 603 (General). The course fee for the first-year is INR 1.76 LPA.

The faculty of the department are highly qualified and experienced. The faculties are alumni from IITs, IISc Bangalore, NITs.

The placement scenario is pretty good for MTech in CSE. The top recruiters include Microsoft, Dell, Infosys, IBM, CTS, etc. More than 90% of the M.Tech CSE students get placements every year. The average salary package offered is around INR 5.5 LPA.
