I have quite a few friends at VJIT Mumbai, so I can speak for the institute. After IITs, it is quite reputed among students. People from outside of Maharashtra may not be aware of VJIT but inside the state being a student of VJIT is a matter of pride. 

If we make a comparison of engineering colleges nationwide, it will be IITs from tier-1, followed by few NITs, and after that colleges such as VJIT for the following tier. 

VJIT is an old institute with a huge brand value. Many reputed MNCs visit the campus for the placement drive. It is less recognized but ‘underrated’ is probably is the wrong word to describe it. 

The following factors are the reasons who most people are not familiar with the institute. 

• It is a state college, that limits its appeal to a great extent. Students, parents, and media all alike give far more important to national colleges/institutions by default.
• As students outside of the state of the institute do not know about the college, they do not apply and thus the diversity is heavily skewed.

So, VJIT may not have national recognition but it is quite reputed inside Maharashtra.

BIT Sindri is one of the most popular and best government engineering institutes of Jharkhand. To get admission here, you need to study very hard and qualify for the entrance examination conducted by J.C.E.C.E.B with a higher score. 

• After clearing the exam, there will be a counseling process that takes place in 2 or 3 rounds. 
• After that, you have to wait for the admission date after the confirmation and allotment of your seat. 
• The date will be announced on the official website of the institute. During this time you have to keep all the original copies of documents like academics certificates and governmental documents ready with you. 
• These documents will be verified during the day of your admission and after this process, you will receive a receipt showing your roll no. with your stream and your date of welcome. 

These are the complete process of taking admission at BIT Sindri and after successfully completing all the steps, you can get admission and start attending classes.

BIT Sindri mechanical is way better than that of many NITs and maybe some less popular IITs. Though the lab is very old still its machinery is in good condition. 

Facilities-

BIT Sindri offers great facilities and types of machinery such as a wind tunnel, and other automobiles.

• Wind Tunnel is an apparatus where models of submarines, airplanes, and other automobiles are tested to ensure that the prototypes will be working the same way as their respective models. This machine is huge and maybe you would have never seen it in your life. 
• The honeycomb maze section of the apparatus is likely to blow your mind. 
• It has been exported from IISC Bangalore, and till now even ISM does not have it.

Birsa Institute of Technology or BIT Sindri is the best college to study Mechanical Engineering. 

Thus, if you are looking to study Mechanical Engineering then BIT Sindri would be a good option. Along with good infrastructure, it also has skilled faculty and good placement. So, you can join it without any doubt.

There is no such thing as placement strategy but talking of placements, very few students of the civil branch are interested in it. 

• Most of the students go for IES or State government jobs. 
• The placement of core companies in campus placement do not prefer girls because of the security issues and therefore girls mostly prefer IT companies during placements. 
• In campus placement companies visit depends upon the concerned branches TPO. Students have to take place in soft companies. Many of them are placed in companies like IBM & TCS.

India is a developing country and there is a huge requirement for Civil Engineers and will be in the coming future for Infrastructure development. So, it would be good, just stay focused on the core subject.

According to recent data, BIT Sindri’s production, metallurgy, and chemical engineering departments have good scope for placement in core companies.

• There are chances for students in Metallurgy to get into PSUs like SAIL because very few engineering colleges have the Metallurgy department.

For the Production undergraduates, the opportunities are as follows.

• A good core job in this branch is the best option one can opt for in Production. There are limited seats for production and industrial engineers which makes it difficult to get selected.

For the Chemical undergraduates, the opportunities are listed below.

• Few private chemical companies visit the campus too, but they are quite less in number.

To summarize, the above three branches provide a decent amount of opportunities in both private and government sectors. It is always the choice of the student to excel in his/her skills, their preparations and hardships they go through the four years of engineering, making a difference in career and further opportunities.
