Banaras Hindu University is a prestigious agricultural sciences institution. The institute has made numerous contributions to Indian agriculture and has numerous scientific accomplishments. Agriculture is a vast area in India, and there is a need for major breakthroughs to increase crop production, not just rice and wheat production, and food security.

After graduating from this institution, you will have many opportunities to pursue your interests.

  • ICAR-JRF - If you want to pursue further education, you can take the JRF exam in the subject of your choice. IARI is a dream institution, and only the best students are admitted. Every year, many BHU students attend IARI for M.Sc Ag in various fields and other agricultural universities.

  • BHU Postgraduate BHU students are given reserved seating. Admission to BHU M.Sc Ag is no longer easy. Internal quota seats are available to BHU students.

  • MBA Master's in Business is another route that students can take. There is a good environment for MBA preparation here, and many students get into prestigious institutes like IIM-Ahmadabad, IRMA, TISS, NIBM NAARM, and many more.

  • BANKING Every year, IBPS invites applications for Agriculture officers. In recent years, there has been a trend in BHU to prepare for IBPS exams, with approximately half of a batch going into the banking sector. Many students also study for the FCI, NABARD, and State PCS (for District Agriculture Officer) exams.

  • PLACEMENT Many private firms, dairy companies, private banks, non-governmental organizations, and seed and fertilizer industries offer graduates lucrative packages. Students who are looking for jobs right after graduation usually apply for them.

  • MS, approximately 3-4 students apply for MS each year. The institute has a large alumni network of students who are studying at universities in the United States and Australia, and they are used to motivate and guide students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies at any foreign institution.

As a result, not only does the Institute of Agricultural Sciences BHU provide a better scope, but it also provides a better alumni network and environment for overall development. The institute is the most sought-after institute at BHU. Studying agriculture here is a life-changing experience.

What is the scope of a BSc from BHU?

AD
Ayushi Dubey Posted On : November 15th, 2022
Studied at Banaras Hindu University

If you know what you want to do after graduation, a B.Sc from BHU is a good option. You must choose your Hons. courses in the first year, so you should be clear about your goals. If you want to pursue a career in research, you should choose an honors subject that interests you. You can also apply for JAM in your third year to gain admission to IITs that offer m.sc courses. Aside from that, you can study for the CAT or civil services. Many B.Sc students there aim for the CAT exam for MBA entrance, UPSC, PCS, IITJAM, SSC CGL, and other competitive exams. If you study for these exams, you will be in a pleasant environment.

You would also have the opportunity to learn to swim, mountaineer, or be a part of NCC, NSS, and other organizations. If you are looking for good campus placements in this area, you will most likely be disappointed.

Economics from Banaras Hindu University (Graduated 2018)

Banaras Hindu University or BHU is not just better but it’s the best for UPSC preparation. There are many examples of students passing the UPSC exam from this university. One such example is Sachin Kumar. He was a student of MA (Political Science) and managed to top the CAPF exam without any extra tuition. His delegation combined with the university’s quality education helped him climb the ladder.

I have mentioned some pros of the university to explain why you should go for BHU:

  • Hostels- The best thing about BHU has to be its amazing hostels with great facilities and surrounded with lush green beauty. The ambiance is perfect for the preparation of any kind of exam. The AND hostel is one of the best. The hostels are extremely affordable around INR 80 per month.

  • Facilities- Every resident of the hostel can easily access the classes, food, playground, gym, pool, and other facilities. Free Wi-Fi facility is also available 24/7.

  • Social activities- The hostels at BHU celebrate all the festivals which bring together students from different communities. This helps develop an emotional bond and makes hostel life memorable.

All in all, BHU is the right choice for UPSC preparation. You will not regret your decision.

How do I prepare for the BHU BA (Hons.) in social science entrance exam?

SS

B.A Political Science, Banaras Hindu University (2022)

One of my friends studied at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). According to him, BA social science entrance exam demands you to be knowledgeable in the field of humanities.

All you have to do is cover the current affairs section very well and along with that keep an eye on the previous year's questions. Some questions include topics on psychology or philosophy. For this, you don't have to go through the topics elaborately. You can solve previous year's questions to get a general idea. These are a must to pass BHU BA Social Science entrance examination.

For current affairs, you can keep yourself updated by reading newspapers and magazines. This will improve your vocabulary and writing ability. Knowing history will also be helpful. So prepare accordingly.
