Is Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology better than Amity University Noida?

TA

The question is a bit vague as you did not mention the criteria or the branch for comparison so I will offer my neutral reviews.

Usually one considers parameters like curriculum, infrastructure, fees, placement, and brand name. Also, your skills and knowledge by the end of 4 years affect your rate of employability. One needs to have excellent industry connections and the tag of a good college to make him employable. That being said, Galgotias has a slight advantage over Amity as it has better placements and industry connections.

Ultimately I will say that if you have no financial constraints, go for Amity but if you want to earn your placement go for Galgotias.

Noida and Greater Noida do not have a railway station. But there are several metro stations and buses which have good connectivity to the city.

There are several ways through which you can reach Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology. Here is the route -

  • From Delhi Railway Station (NDLS), go to the nearest metro station. After reaching the metro station go to Rajeev Chowk, from where you have to go to the blue line.
  • From the blue line, board the metro for Noida City Centre. Get off at Botanical Garden Metro Station and take a bus.
  • The bus will take you to Pari Chowk. You have to ask the bus to stop at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, which is 1.5 km before Pari Chowk.

If you are coming from Ghaziabad railway station then you can take Uber from the railway station. If you are carrying a lot of luggage then you can also take an auto to Surajpur, from where you will get auto to Pari Chawk, and then to Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology.

Is it a good idea to leave galgotias after 1 year and go for iet Lucknow?

RS

Studies MCA at IET Lucknow 2022

Be more specific about your rank as it would help define the scenario better. But, in any case, you should know the various advantages of IET Lucknow over Galgotias. Some of them are as follows:

  1. The peer group at IET Lucknow is extremely better and they choose to be focused on every cause whatsoever.
  2. It is a government-run institute, which gives it an upper hand.
  3. There is the provision of a scholarship for complete waiver on the tuition fees for several backward students in the class. You might also secure your B.Tech degree completely free. Besides, it comes with amazing ROI.
  4. The faculty in every department is better than most other institutes around. Both permanent and visiting, in Mechanical engineering, Civil Engineering, and the CSE department are one of a kind.
  5. You will also have access to several coaching centers within a 2 KM radius, which is highly beneficial. Thus, you can prepare with liberty for as many exams as you want to take, like CAT, GATE, UPSC, GRE, and others.
  6. The placement drive has always been good. The visiting companies are Amazon, Adobe, TCS, Wipro, Sigma, LAVA international, Honda Cars, Analytics Quotient, Snapdeal, BSNL, Merchant Navy, Sterlite, Tata Chemicals, and more.

Other than the advantages, here are some of its demerits,

  1. The infrastructure of IET Lucknow is somewhat poor, as is found in many other government institutes.
  2. The administration can sometimes be extremely indifferent towards the requirements students usually have.
  3. The quality of pedagogy is rapidly deteriorating in most classes.

You can enroll at IET Lucknow only if you wish to pursue Mechanical Engineering, CSE, or Civil Engineering. In contrast, if you want to ace other important competitive exams, then you can research more about other institutes as well.

Which branch is better from Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology (i.e., from private colleges)?

EP
Ekta Parmar Posted On : June 24th, 2021
B.Tech, Chemical Engineering from Galgotias University (2017)

Private engineering colleges are marked with certain advantages and disadvantages. If you are going for engineering in Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, then you must consider certain parameters. For most of the private colleges, there are certain branches only that offer decent placement opportunities, others have no value due to meager placements.

The points below give a brief overview of these parameters.

  • CSE is considered to be the best branch in all private engineering colleges in India. It offers the best opportunities in internships and placement, which is mostly into the extensive IT industry.
  • Coming next, Information Technology is preferred just after CSE. IT is almost similar to CSE in terms of curriculum and infrastructure in most colleges. You will get the same amount of placement and opportunities in general as that of CSE.
  • ECE is considered to be the next option and merely the last preferable choice that can actually offer some good placement.

Other than these three branches, no branch is worth considering in almost all private engineering colleges in India. Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, etc have very little to almost nil placements in our country these days.

If you are interested in studying at Galgotias College of Engineering and Technology, all the above points are applicable. CSE or IT is always the best-preferred choice. If none of the two is possible, you can opt for ECE, but not any branch other than the three.
