The admission to the M.Tech programs at IIT Bhubaneswar is done based on the performance of the students in GATE.
Regular candidates:-
The shortlisting of regular candidates for admission into MTech is based on their GATE score only. The fixing of the cutoff score for candidates in different categories is as per the norms of the institute. For the selection of regular candidates, 70% of weightage is given to the GATE score and 30% to the written tests and interviews. The written test and the interviews are given 15% weightage each.
A student from the unreserved category is selected for the interview if he/she scores a minimum of 40% in the written test and for final selection, candidates need to score a minimum of 50% marks in the interview. The ultimate selection of the candidates is based on the combined score of GATE, written test, and interview.
Sponsored Candidates:-
The candidates who served for three years in the sponsoring organization are known as sponsored candidates. The sponsored candidates can be divided into three categories and the shortlisting and selection procedure for the different categories are discussed below.

Also, Odisha is blessed with minerals, so students can gain practical knowledge through field trips.

The faculty at both these institutions are equally outstanding. However, Electronics courses fall in the middle of core and software. This is why Electronics students get jobs quite easily in the software domain as well.
This makes the job prospects of ECE students better than their Mechanical counterparts. Thus, I would recommend you choose ECE at IIT Bhubaneswar over Mechanical at IIT Indore.
I am a student at IIT Bhubaneswar and I can share a few insights that will help guide you to prepare for the IIT Bhubaneswar written text and interview. You must prepare well for the written test as too many basic and technical questions are being asked. I will share the question pattern for the written test below:
My interview experience was good. The interview lasted for 5-6 mins. There were only 5 panel members which is the usual number of members in the panel. For the interview be confident and answer the questions asked in detail. You must prepare properly for your specialization.

There is no mandatory medical test required for registration at IIT Bhubaneswar. However, all students are required to fill out a medical fitness declaration form at the time of admission. This form requires students to self-declare their medical fitness status and any pre-existing medical conditions or illnesses.
In case a student has a pre-existing medical condition, he/she may be required to undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness level and to ensure that they are able to participate in academic and extracurricular activities without any hindrance. This examination may be conducted by the institute's medical officer or a qualified medical practitioner.
It is always advisable for students to maintain good health and fitness, as the rigorous academic program and demanding schedule at IITs require students to be physically and mentally fit. Students are encouraged to engage in regular physical activity and to seek medical attention in case of any illness or medical emergency.
