Students are required to undergo 8 weeks of compulsory summer training, carrying 2/4 credits. The Mtech admission process at IIT Kharagpur involves qualifying the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Candidates must apply through the Common Offer Acceptance Portal (COAP). The selection is based on GATE score, academic performance, and in some cases, written test or interview conducted by the institute.
