Is IIM Ahmedabad executive Programme worth 17 lacs any good?
The course fee for PGPX at IIM Allahabad is not 17 Lacs but 28 Lacs including taxes. I am assuming by worth you mean the ROI of the program. In that case, I would like to tell you that the average package for PGPX graduates is about 28 lakhs.
Apart from salary packages, there are other advantages of pursuing this course. The people who opt for PGPX Programme have at least an experience of 5 years and maximum 7-8 years. They join the PGPX program with a long-term objective of changing career tracks into mid- or senior-level management roles. So, the peer learning opportunities are great for this program.

Do I have a chance of making it to IIM Ahmedabad if I scored 81% in 10th and 62 in 12th science?

IIM Ahmedabad has certain criteria pertaining to class 10th and 12th marks. Under this, it’s necessary for the average of 10th and 12th to be greater than

- 77% in the Commerce stream
- 75% in the Arts and Humanities stream
So, with your academic profile, even a 100 percentile in CAT will not fetch you a call from IIM Ahmedabad. However, you can go for top B Schools like FMS Delhi, SP Jain, MDI Gurugram, etc. that give more preference to CAT scores than par academic performance.
Should residents of Ahmedabad skip IIM Ahmedabad, to avoid constant disturbance from family members, and try for IIM Calcutta or IIM Bangalore instead?
I wouldn’t say that as a student of IIM Ahmedabad and also a resident of Ahmedabad, visits from your family members will be a problem. This is because the maximum duration of your day will be spent in classes, studying for exams or assignments. You will not even have the time to be disturbed by your family members. It’s not that big of a factor that might change your decision to go to IIM Calcutta or Bangalore rather than IIM Ahmedabad. Moreover chances are that you might face some health issues and it's to your advantage as an Ahmedabad resident that your family members will tend to you so that you can recover quickly.
I scored 81% in 10th and 62% in 12th (science). Do I have a chance of making it to IIM AHMEDABAD?
IIM Ahmedabad or even the top IIMs have very strict rules and regulations regarding the admission process. They strictly adhere to these rules. As of now, there is a rule that the average result combining class 10th and 12th should be at least 80 percent (for Science Students) and 87 percent (for Commerce Students).
If you are a general category student then it is less likely that you will be selected. Even if you get 100 percentile in CAT, you will not be shortlisted because of these criteria. However, you have other alternatives such as FMS, MDI Gurgaon, SP Jain, etc. These are some of the popular B-Schools that select students based on their CAT scores.
