The truth is IIIT Hyderabad is a blossoming institute and is nowhere comparable to the top IITs and NITs at least as of now.

Firstly, your mode and time of admission do not affect your placement opportunities at all. That being said, IIIT Hyderabad has an excellent placement scenario that is increasing every year.

Is ISM Dhanbad CSE better than IIIT Hyderabad CSE?
I assume you are specifically talking about the CSE branch only. In that case, IIIT Hyderabad is certainly better than ISM Dhanbad in many ways. It has better research opportunities, curriculum, placement scenarios, better recognition among software companies, and a higher number of people qualifying for ICPC and GSOC.
However, everything about IIIT Hyderabad is CS-tailored so if you are open to other options or aren’t yet certain of CSE, then choosing ISM Dhanbad will do you more good.
So ultimately the ‘better’ college depends on your choice.
What kind of questions can an ECE student expect for the IIIT Hyderabad PGEE interview?
One of my cousins was selected for both M.Tech VLSI and MS by research and had the opportunity to appear for the interview. The interview was pretty simple and they seemed to test your ability to understand and explain things.

- How well have you been doing in academics, what kind of projects and internships have you done, and what is your GATE score?
Technical Questions
- What is an opamp?
- Derive the voltage and current equations.
- What is modulation?
- Why do we need modulation?
- What types of modulations do you know about?
- Can you think of some other parameters you can modulate?
- Why is image filtering done in the frequency domain?
- What is spatial filtering?
After this, they enquired him about his projects.
Overall, the panelists evaluated his academic history, ability to explain things, understanding of basic concepts, and willingness to learn.
What is better, IIIT Hyderabad ECE or IIIT Allahabad/IIIT Delhi CSE?
If you're trying to decide between IIIT Delhi and IIIT Allahabad, know that IIIT Delhi is better in many ways.
However, it's true that both IIIT Delhi and IIIT Allahabad aren't as good as IIIT Hyderabad at the moment.
