Manila Central University sets one institution-wide English floor and layers program-specific academic thresholds on top. All Indian applicants — undergraduate and postgraduate — must clear the English requirement. Health-science and medicine tracks add subject prerequisites and, for the Doctor of Medicine, the National Medical Admission Test (NMAT). • UG general entry (recommended): Class XII with a general aggregate of 50% or higher.

Manila Central University English Requirements for Indian Students

The English floor applies to every foreign applicant at every level. Indian applicants can choose whichever test they can sit closest to the intake — MCU treats them as equivalent.

MCU’s admission requirements page does not publish a separate Medium of Instruction (MOI) waiver, English-medium-schooling exemption, or country-of-prior-study exemption for Indian applicants. The IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 75 requirement is stated as applying to all foreign applicants; Indian applicants without one of these scores should sit an English test before filing rather than assume an MOI letter will substitute.

Insider note: Indian MBBS aspirants must also qualify NEET-UG to have the resulting MCU MD recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) India for FMGE or NExT registration. This is an Indian regulatory requirement, not an MCU admissions rule — you can enrol at MCU without NEET, but the degree will not lead to Indian medical registration without it.

Manila Central University PG Programs

Manila Central University’s postgraduate portfolio is compact — it centres on the Doctor of Medicine (a graduate-entry medical degree in the Philippines system) and a small cluster of professional master’s degrees in dentistry, nursing, education, and business. 

MCU’s undergraduate portfolio splits cleanly between health-science tracks — pharmacy, nursing, medical technology, radiologic technology, dentistry, physical therapy, optometry — and non-health tracks in business, computing, and communication. Health-science UG programs are the reason most Indian applicants land at MCU, since they feed the MD pathway and open PRC licensure in the Philippines.

Applications route through the MCU applicant portal end-to-end — the university does not use UCAS-style centralised applications or third-party agents. The steps below mirror the flow set out on the official MCU admission procedure page.

1. Register on the MCU applicant portal at the MCU applicant portal and pay the processing fee set at enrollment.
2. Wait for email credentials — the applicant number and login password arrive within 2 to 4 working days.
3. Upload the document set — passport biopage, PSA-authenticated or MEA-authenticated Class X and XII marksheets, police clearance, IELTS or TOEFL score, and, for MD applicants, the NMAT report.
4. Complete the program-specific test or interview — dentistry dexterity test, medicine NMAT and interview, or the MBA video-call interview, depending on the track.
5. Await the offer letter — MCU issues a conditional or unconditional offer within 3 to 6 weeks of a complete application; funding for Indian students runs on a separate track and is worth exploring alongside the offer.
6. Confirm acceptance and request the Notice of Acceptance (NOA) for the Philippines 9(f) student visa application.

Manila Central University Admission Decisions

MCU issues decisions on a rolling basis rather than releasing them on a single results day. Timelines vary by programme — Doctor of Medicine and Dentistry decisions run longer because of the interview and dexterity-test stages.

• Offer letter timing: 3 to 6 weeks from a complete application for UG and non-medicine PG; 6 to 10 weeks for MD and DDM.
• Acceptance deadline: Two weeks from the date of the offer letter — applicants must confirm and pay the reservation fee to hold the seat.
• Conditional offers: Typical conditions include the pending IELTS or TOEFL score, final Class XII marksheet, or NMAT result; the offer is confirmed once these arrive.
• Deferral policy: One-semester deferral is allowed with a written request; deferring by a full academic year needs the Dean’s approval and may require a fresh application.
