MICA Ahmedabad Hosted Workshop for Library Professionals on September 25; Check Details Here

New Delhi: MICA Ahmedabad hosted a one-day workshop to enhance leadership skills among library professionals. The workshop was held on September 25, 2023 and was titled 'Libraries Unleashed: Empowering Leadership Through Liberating Structures'.

The workshop conducted by MICA Ahmedabad was attended by almost 50 professionals from across Gujarat. According to the institute, the workshop will provide various leadership practices to the participants that will contribute to enhancing customer service excellence.

Falguni Vasavada-Oza and Shailesh Yagnik, senior adviser to the Knowledge Exchange and Information Centre (KEIC) were among some of the expert speakers of the workshop.

Falguni Vasavada-Oza spoke on effective leadership, equipping the attendees with tools and techniques to boost their leadership capabilities. 

Shailesh Yagnik, who is a librarian, spoke about liberating structures through a series of interactive exercises. Yagnik introduced the participants to innovative approaches to decision-making, problem-solving, and collaboration within library settings.

Chintan Pandya, librarian at the KEIC at MICA said, "The event exemplified MICA library's dedication and commitment to nurturing professional development and innovation in the library field." 

One of the participants Hayat Ahmad who is a librarian at CEPT University, said, "I liked the approach and the structure with which the workshop was designed and conducted. The use of innovative techniques, drills, and exercises were beneficial." 

Another attendee Rashmi Kumbar, assistant professor at Central University of Gujarat, said, "The workshop was highly productive. It was a good opportunity for library professionals to gather under one roof to brainstorm and share ideas that could be implemented."
