Dr. Mukta Agrawal, Faculty at NMIMS Hyderabad Receives Best Oral Presentation Award at Pharmacon 2023; Check Details Below

New Delhi: In a remarkable accomplishment, Dr. Mukta Agrawal, Assistant Professor (Pharmaceutics) at SVKM’s NMIMS School of Pharmacy & Technology Management, Jadcherla, Hyderabad, was recognized with the Best Oral Presentation Award. Her exceptional research presentation titled "Comparative Analysis of SLN and NLC as Novel Drug Carrier System" received this accolade at the international forum, "Pharmacon 2023," focusing on 'New Horizons in Drug, Devices and Diagnostics'.

The International Conference, "Pharmacon 2023," was hosted by the distinguished National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education & Research, NIPER, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemical and Fertilisers, Government of India, at the Heartful Wellness Centre, Kanha Shanti Vanam, Hyderabad.

What is "Pharmacon 2023"?

"Pharmacon 2023" convened notable national and international figures from academia, industry, and policymaking circles to deliberate on contemporary issues and prospects in drug discovery, drug development, and medical diagnostics. Attendees shared their innovative research via oral and poster presentations during this gathering.

Dr. Mukta Agrawal’s Presentation

Dr. Agrawal delivered an in-depth presentation titled 'Comparative Analysis of SLN and NLC as Novel Drug Carrier System' during the conference. The research aimed to assess the effectiveness of Solid Lipid Nanoparticles (SLN) and Nano Lipid Carriers (NLC) in targeting drugs to the brain for treating inflammatory or neurodegenerative disorders. 

The study concluded that both nanocarriers were efficient in addressing tumor targeting, brain targeting, and various chronic disorders. Notably, NLC nanocarriers exhibited superior features in terms of drug loading, entrapment, stability, and pharmacokinetic parameters.

Dr. Mukta Agrawal’s Achievements

Dr. Mukta Agrawal serves as an Assistant Professor (Pharmaceutics) at the NMIMS SPTM campus in Hyderabad. Holding a Ph.D. from CSVTU, her research interests are primarily focused on Nanoparticles, Stimuli Responsive Drug Carriers, Alzheimer’s Therapy, Brain Targeting, Nose-to-Brain Drug Delivery, and Tumor Targeting. Dr. Agrawal imparts knowledge in Pharmaceutical Technology, Controlled Drug Delivery Systems, Novel Drug Delivery Systems, and Pharmacokinetics. 

Her notable achievements include the publication of over 70 national and international research papers on various subjects, earning recognition and acclaim. She regularly participates in conferences and workshops of substantial importance and has been included in Stanford University and Elsevier’s 'Top 2% Scientists of the World' list for two consecutive years. 

Furthermore, she received the Young Scientist 2016 award and has achieved success in numerous National Scientific Competitions.

Expressing her happiness regarding her achievement, and acknowledging the moment as one of honor, Dr. Mukta Agrawal conveyed her gratitude toward the NMIMS faculty and management for their remarkable support and encouragement, highlighting the university's conducive environment, resources, and infrastructure. 

Dr. Agrawal attributed her recognition to NMIMS SPTM Hyderabad's conducive atmosphere, enabling her to pursue innovative research across diverse scientific domains.
