Ambedkar Institute of Management

What attracted you to the role of secretary at the Ambedkar Institute of Management and Studies?

Attraction is nothing but as I told you, this was established in 1990 in Hyderabad. A combined state was there. Ambedkar People's Education Society. Yes. Established by the IAS, IPS, and IRS, officers, mostly coming from Chalukah Scheduled Tribe communities. Their main intention is to spread the education and the reforms put forth by Babasaheb Ambedkar. And they want to create a new society. In a way, it serves the students, and people, and gives service to society. To make the society enlightened in this sort of activity. Students should know first of all, who are the basic leaders to get freedom out of the country. And also social justice, whoever worked for the company. I can't wait for Karuna. So with that, after my retirement and this society, there should be some trustees. Trustees are the ruling branch of this organization. So maybe three years back, I took charge as secretary and correspondent. And here, working 14, I think 18 staff members, one principal, one director. But our average monthly expenditure is around 5,000 rupees. Nearly three lakhs for salaries and all. We give degree courses, five degrees BBA, BSc Maths, BSc Computers, BSc Vocational, and something like that. One more, Embedded Institute of Management Studies, like that, another organization, that's an institute. That PEG diploma. Yes. We give. So that is also for 60 students. That's what we are doing in our college.

What do you believe are the key challenges facing higher education today? And how do you plan to address them in your role as a Professor, Secretary and correspondent?

Key factors mean, of course, mostly our society is, you know, nearly 70% almost uneducated in our Indian society. Yes. So, from them, and financial differences also are there, like poor, very poor, bit, mid, like that, and up, means, like that. But out of these, 70% are uneducated and monitored. So they are backward or something like that. But out of them, beyond 30%, mostly 20 to 30%, they are rich and very rich people in the country. Yes, we have to make the benefits available in the country to all the people, all the men, all the citizens of the country. So, how to acquire this, how to make use of their right to vote when elections come and all, you know. What are the rights they have? Then, out of all, what is the right to vote for a person? Because, you know, right drop to the bottom, or it from MLA to MP, President, all are to be elected. By directly or indirectly. So, these administrators set up everything, people should know. So, for that, you know, we must get, all of us must get educated. So, especially by establishing this set of private colleges, and private institutions, we have to make people understand. Because by collecting little, little pieces, they can't go to Chaitanya, like Narayana. They are very big established institutions, wherein they collect more pieces and all. Maybe some enlightened people may go, but that facility is not, not connected. Connected in the means, these people are not eligible to go to that setup. So, our intention is to make people enlightened about all things happening around us, what is to be learned, and how to live, all those things. So, we have to, we have to put in our efforts to see that they should be aware of all these things and accordingly they should know how to behave and all.

How do you envision your role as a secretary in supporting the mission and goals of the Ambedkar Institute of Management and Studies?

I am doing my best. I am doing my best all the way, and the selection of candidates, I mean students, is not the will and wish of the management, I mean. Because all the students have to apply for higher education. The state government's only option, the student's option, will allow the students. So I need my strength to teach students I can admit. But I couldn't get them at all. In the recent allotment I got only 70, so some colleges of this kind, private, this kind, we couldn't get more students. So like that, in such a way, but whatever students we get, we would be able to teach them the minimum and the maximum.

How do you plan to engage with the students, faculties, and other stakeholders in our role as a secretary?

My engagement is only to see how best they can teach the student. I tell them, so you cannot keep on telling them a particular topic and after an hour is over, hour is over, go like that, that's not the way. You must make them understand, each and every student. What is best, the way you told, and how best the student got the subject out of it. So you must be aware that all students are paying concentration on the subject and they are getting. And once or twice, you must make them alert, make them interested to know what you are saying. That is a skill of a late teacher. Anybody can come and tell and go off. So the best way, how best you can teach them so that they should, all students should be. So you put concentration on your teaching and they can ask whatever the things you tell them.

Can you discuss any specific initiatives or projects that you hope to implement as a secretary and correspondent in the Ambedkar Institute of Management and Business?

The Hoping project means as it is we are planning to have a hostel building for the students here so that because many people are getting inconvenient to get to college for long distances they should come from hostels. That is why we are planning to construct a hostel building so that students can stay here so that we can get more admissions. So say our strength is 280 means we are getting 60, 70, this is nothing. So we are trying to develop the infrastructure for the accommodation of more students and that will improve the college. Once the college is to be improved means more students to be there. 2080 is 60, 70 students it is almost not even the minimum. So we have to plan to construct a hostel building thereafter we will try to improve. That means some more improvement is to be made to the college. So we are trying to do that.

How do you plan to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusivity at the Ambedkar Institute of Management Studies?

Fostering culture, the collaborative thing is we have to, we are telling the students all if you must learn things about what is happening in the country and of course, as I told you last time, you must understand. Accordingly, you must plan out your future and your studies, everything. So that way you should be united and fight for the right cause of the society in turn to you people. That is to be done means all of you must get together and fight for it. That is our mission. To make the student understand the issues and problems and to fight against them for the success of that particular right.
