Anna University Placement 2021-22: 40% Rise in Offers, Highest Package at INR 36 LPA; Read Details Here

New Delhi: Anna University Placement 2021-22 has recorded a 40% rise in job offers in comparison to the last year's data. The increase in job offers recorded by the university during the campus placement drive is the highest in the past 4 years. 

As per Anna University, the placement drive for 2021-2022 session was held in online mode due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. During the virtual hiring process, the university was able to schedule multiple interviews with companies at the same time. 

Anna University Placement 2021-22 saw over 142 companies participating in the virtual drive. The average salary package offered increased from INR 6 Lakh Per Annum to INR 7 Lakh Per Annum this year. The highest package offered to students enrolled in various Anna University Courses is INR 36 LPA so far. 

While talking about the placement, Anna University Director, Mala John said, "As many as 142 companies have visited the campus this year and made around 1,7000 offers so far. With more companies lined up till February, we expect the number of offers to increase further".

Anna University Placement 2021-22: Key Highlights 

With the increasing demands in IT Products, the Data Analytics sector, and fintech companies, the highest number of placement offers was made by top companies like Wells Fargo, Citi, Walmart Labs, and Societe Generale among others. 

Around 95% of students from the computer science and IT branch of Anna University received placements in IT product companies. The companies who joined the 2021-22 session placement offered students better pay packages compared to recruiters from previous years.

Anna University Additional Director of CUIC, T Kalaiselvan said, "Many top companies have added gamification rounds to their recruitment process whereby they will test students' aptitude, creative thinking, and problem-solving capabilities".

With this mode, students who have coding skills and practical knowledge of the latest trends in the IT sector are able to land high-paying jobs. He further added that the university is expecting a continuous rise in placement records in the coming five to ten years. 

Referring to the increase in overall placement data, Anna University Vice-Chancellor, R Velraj said, "Post-pandemic, there is a huge push for digitalization and automation. It created a huge demand for software engineers, data analysts, and cyber security experts".

As of now, the growing fields like machine learning, artificial intelligence, data analytics, Internet of Things (IoT) will demand manpower in their respective areas. As a result, considering Anna University Placement 2021 records, packages in IT product companies will be very high for the next few years.
