The Bachelor of Architectural Studies (BAS) introduces students to the foundational aspects of architecture through a dynamic blend of studio courses, real-world case studies, and forward-thinking design projects. Throughout the programme, students will develop their design capabilities and creative practice using industry-standard software and fully equipped workshops to bring concepts to life. In the first year, the curriculum emphasizes design fundamentals through both hand-drawn and digital techniques, while also exploring architectural history, sustainable design, materiality, and construction principles. In the second year and beyond, students deepen their understanding of architectural design, media, materials, and sustainable practices, alongside expanding their knowledge of historical precedents and learning about project management. To become a professional architect, graduates typically progress into the Master of Architecture (Professional) or a combined master’s programme, which is usually undertaken immediately after completing the BAS. University of Auckland accepts almost all English proficiency exams, such as IELTS, TOEFL, for international students admission. Indian students with excellent scores are eligible for the University of Auckland India High Achievers Scholarship  worth $20,000.
