Nyenrode Business Universiteit admissions are competitive and fit-first for Indian applicants across its bachelor’s, master’s, MBA, and PhD tracks. The Bachelor of Science needs Class XII with Mathematics plus IELTS 6.0. Masters and the Impact MBA need a Bachelor’s at GPA 6.5/10 plus IELTS 6.5.

  • Next live deadline: 15 January 2027, the first round for the BBA and MSc in Management August 2027 intake (primary intake).
  • Base tuition runs €24,000 to €49,000 per year (around ₹25.87 to 52.82 Lakhs). Application fee is €175 (around ₹18,865) for BBA and MSc Management.
  • Eligibility criteria: UG = Class XII at 65% with Mathematics, IELTS 6.0. PG = Bachelor’s GPA 6.5/10 (around 65%), IELTS 6.5.
  • Acceptance rate is estimated at 20 to 25% based on small per-program cohort sizes. Nyenrode does not publish an official institutional figure.

Indian applicants typically target three programs: the BBA, the Full-Time MSc in Management, and the 14-month Impact MBA. Student reviews of Nyenrode Business Universiteit consistently flag the castle-campus residential model and the small cohort sizes as the main draw for Indian masters and MBA candidates.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Application Deadlines for Indian Students

Nyenrode runs distinct application cycles per program. The BBA and Full-Time MSc in Management share the primary August intake and follow a two-deadline pattern (first round and final round). The Impact MBA Full-time opens for September on rolling admissions. The Impact MBA Executive starts in March. The PhD admits annually for an August start, with applications running from September to March of the previous cycle.

Nyenrode’s primary intake for Indian students is August. Most programs open here.

Dates above are sourced from each program’s own page on the official Nyenrode programs hub. Indian applicants targeting the Impact MBA Full-time should plan for September 2027. The September 2026 cycle is still rolling for EU applicants, but the Netherlands MVV processing plus document prep effectively shuts the window for Indian first-time applicants from late June 2026 onwards.

Planning note: Aim for the first deadline (15 January 2027) on BBA and MSc applications. Final-deadline applicants compete for thinner remaining cohort slots and lose first call on scholarship review.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Eligibility for Indian Students

Eligibility at Nyenrode is set per program. Each level has an academic floor (Class XII for BBA, Bachelor’s GPA for masters, post-experience for the MBA) plus an English proficiency requirement. Indian applicants whose Bachelor’s was fully English-medium can request an IELTS waiver via a Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter. This section covers academic thresholds and language tests only. Paperwork is listed separately in the Documents Required section.

Nyenrode Bachelor’s Eligibility

The BBA accepts Indian Class XII results when they map to the Dutch VWO standard. Practically, this means:

  • Academic eligibility: Class XII at around 65% overall, with Mathematics at a strong grade.
  • Subject prerequisite: Mathematics studied through Class XII (CBSE, ISC, or state board) is required.
  • English minimums: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80, PTE Academic 61, or Cambridge C1/C2 at 169.

What Does Nyenrode Require for Master’s Admission?

The Full-Time MSc in Management accepts Indian Bachelor’s degrees from recognised UGC universities (3-year or 4-year). The eligibility floor:

  • Academic floor: Bachelor’s at GPA 6.5/10 (around 65% in Indian terms).
  • Work experience: Maximum 3 years full-time post-graduate work experience.
  • Quant affinity: Comfort with mathematics and statistics.
  • English minimums: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 90, PTE 70, Cambridge C1 Advanced 176, or LanguageCert ESOL Academic 70.

Impact MBA Work Experience and GMAT Eligibility

The Impact MBA Full-time requires 3+ years of post-graduate full-time work experience, of which at least 1 year is managerial. Either GMAT Focus Edition (minimum 555), GRE (minimum 157), or Nyenrode’s in-house LTP Competence Test (€235, around ₹25,330) is required. English: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90.

Nyenrode IELTS Waiver for Indian Students:

Indian applicants who completed their Bachelor’s or Master’s entirely in English-medium at a recognised Indian university can apply for an English-test waiver. The waiver requires a formal Medium of Instruction (MOI) letter on university letterhead from the registrar, confirming English as the language of instruction throughout the program. Native English speakers and those holding an English-taught qualification from a country where English is the official language also qualify. Submit the MOI letter with your application. Nyenrode admissions confirms the waiver case-by-case after document review.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit PG Programs and Master’s Eligibility

Nyenrode’s master’s portfolio is intentionally narrow. The flagship international-track master’s for Indian applicants is the Full-Time MSc in Management. The MSc in Accountancy is a Dutch professional track requiring Netherlands residency and employment with an NL accountancy firm, so it does not suit fresh Indian applicants studying from abroad. Base tuition for the MSc in Management is €36,450 (around ₹39.29 Lakhs) total. Living costs, deposits, and other fee items sit on Nyenrode’s course-wise fees breakdown.

Programme Duration Minimum Eligibility English Req. Min.
MSc in Management (Full-time) 16 months (pre-master + master) Bachelor’s at GPA 6.5/10 (around 65%). Maximum 3 years post-graduate work experience. Affinity with mathematics and statistics. IELTS 6.5
MSc in Accountancy (Pre-Master + Master, part-time) 32 months Bachelor’s (HBO/WO level) with financial or economic background. Must reside in the Netherlands. Must work at an internationally oriented NL accountancy firm. IELTS 6.5

Nyenrode also runs post-master accountancy and controlling programs (RA, AA, MSc in Controlling, MSc in Public & Private). These are Dutch-language professional certifications aimed at NL-employed professionals, not international degree-seeking applicants from India.

Note: Program-specific entry requirements, fees, and intake availability may differ from the institution-wide minimums shown above. Always confirm on the official Nyenrode MSc Management page for your chosen program before applying.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit BBA Program and UG Eligibility

Nyenrode offers a single undergraduate program, the three-year Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, taught in English at both Amsterdam and Breukelen campuses. The program embeds a leadership-development module, an international exchange semester, and live company projects. Base tuition starts at €24,000 (around ₹25.87 Lakhs) in year one and steps up to €27,000 (around ₹29.11 Lakhs) in year three.

Programme Duration Minimum Eligibility English Req. Min.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration 3 years (full-time) Class XII at around 65% with Mathematics at a strong grade. Indian boards (CBSE, ISC, state) accepted when mapped to VWO equivalency. International applicants may also use the IB Diploma (Math grade 5+, Analysis SL or above) or A-Levels (Math grade B+, 6 subjects total). IELTS 6.0

The BBA accepts a small cohort of 30 to 40 students per year across both campuses combined. Strong Class XII performance, the LTP personality assessment, and the in-person interview together drive the admission decision.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit MBA Admissions for Indian Applicants

Nyenrode runs three MBA variants relevant to Indian applicants. The Impact MBA Full-time is a 14-month residential program built around responsible-leadership themes. The Impact MBA Executive is a 2-year part-time format for professionals based in Europe. The Modular Executive MBAs (Business & IT, Sustainable Transitions, Public & Private) are stackable formats. Two of these are Dutch-taught and only suit applicants fluent in Dutch.

Nyenrode Impact MBA Full-time Eligibility

  • Work experience: minimum 3 years post-graduate full-time, of which at least 1 year is managerial.
  • Standardised test: GMAT Focus Edition 555+, GRE 157+, or Nyenrode LTP Competence Test (€235, around ₹25,330).
  • English: IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 90. Waiver available for English-medium Bachelor’s or Master’s.
  • Tuition: €49,000 VAT-free (around ₹52.82 Lakhs), with no application fee.
  • Intake: September 2026 is rolling. Indian first-time applicants should target September 2027 due to MVV visa timing.

Impact MBA Executive (Part-Time)

The Executive MBA runs 2 years part-time, starting in March 2027 for the next intake. Eligibility mirrors the full-time MBA (3+ years experience, 1+ year managerial). The format suits applicants already living and working in Europe. Indian residents would need to relocate before joining. Rolling applications are open. There is no GMAT-substitute pathway for Indian applicants without prior degree experience.

Are Interviews Mandatory for the Nyenrode MBA?

Yes. After CV, motivation letter, transcripts, and test scores are reviewed, shortlisted candidates complete an interview with the MBA Admissions team. Interviews are conducted online via Microsoft Teams or in person at the Breukelen castle campus. The interview tests fit with Nyenrode’s stewardship, leadership, and entrepreneurship pillars rather than technical knowledge.

Insider note: Nyenrode’s MBA cohort sizes are deliberately small (typically 30 to 40). Apply early in the rolling window, ideally by January for a September intake, to maximise scholarship review. The Diversity & Inclusion, Women in Business, and Triple Crown awards each go to one or two candidates per cohort.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit PhD Admissions

Nyenrode’s PhD is a 5-year part-time program structured across three phases: research proposal (year 1), coursework and electives (years 2 to 3), and dissertation and defence (years 4 to 5). The program is designed for working professionals who conduct research alongside employment. There is no full-time PhD route at Nyenrode.

PhD Eligibility and Application

  • Academic floor: Master’s degree from a recognised institution.
  • Standardised test: GMAT may be requested above the 70th%ile (around 650+) at the selection committee’s discretion.
  • Research alignment: Research proposal must align with a Nyenrode faculty member’s domain.
  • Total tuition: €30,750 (around ₹33.15 Lakhs) over 5 years. Year 1 €4,250, years 2 to 3 €9,750 each, years 4 to 5 €3,500 each.
  • Application window: The 2027-28 cycle runs 1 September 2026 to 1 March 2027.

How Does Nyenrode Fund PhD Candidates?

Nyenrode does not offer PhD scholarships. Candidates self-finance through employer sponsorship, external grants, or personal funds. This makes the program unsuitable for Indian applicants without an employment sponsor or independent funding plan in hand at application.

Reality check: Indian applicants who want funded doctoral research should consider PhD positions at NWO-funded Dutch research universities (Tilburg, Erasmus, RUG) where stipends of around €2,800 per month (around ₹3.02 Lakhs per month) are standard. Nyenrode’s part-time, self-funded model serves a different career path.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Application Process Step by Step

The application sequence is similar across BBA, MSc, and MBA programs, with program-specific document and test requirements layered on top. Plan for around 8 to 12 weeks from submission to final offer for BBA and MSc. The MBA rolling cycle can move faster if your file is complete on submission.

  1. Submit the online application form on Nyenrode’s website with basic details, target program, and intended intake.
  2. Receive Osiris portal access. Nyenrode’s admissions portal (Osiris) link is emailed within 1 to 2 working days.
  3. Pay the application fee of €175 (around ₹18,865) via the official Nyenrode application page for BBA and MSc Management. The Impact MBA has no application fee.
  4. Upload documents in Osiris: transcripts, degree certificates, passport, CV, motivation letter, reference letters, English-test scorecard, and any standardised test scores.
  5. Complete the LTP personality assessment (online, around 90 minutes). Required for BBA, MSc, and as a GMAT alternative for MBA.
  6. Attend the admissions interview. Online via Microsoft Teams or in person at Breukelen.
  7. Receive the admission decision typically within 2 to 4 weeks of completing the interview, depending on program and cycle stage.
  8. Confirm your seat by paying the tuition deposit and signing the enrolment contract.
  9. Begin visa application. Nyenrode files the TEV (combined MVV + residence permit) on your behalf once you confirm acceptance.

For the September MBA intake, rolling decisions are issued within 2 to 3 weeks of completing the file. BBA and MSc decisions for the first deadline (15 January 2027) typically arrive by mid-March 2027, leaving 4 to 5 months for visa processing before the August start.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Documents Required

The document checklist below covers paperwork only. Academic thresholds and English-test minimums are listed in the Eligibility section. All non-English documents must be certified translations (English or Dutch). Indian applicants should have most items ready 6 to 8 weeks before the program deadline.

  • Passport bio page, valid for at least the duration of the program.
  • Class XII mark sheet (CBSE, ISC, or state board), certified copy, for BBA applicants.
  • Bachelor’s degree certificate and consolidated transcript, required for MSc, MBA, and PhD applicants.
  • Master’s degree certificate and transcript, required for PhD applicants.
  • Updated CV in English, listing academic and work-experience details.
  • Motivation letter (one to two pages) explaining program fit and post-program goals.
  • Two reference letters. Academic for BBA and MSc, professional for MBA, mixed for PhD.
  • English proficiency scorecard (IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, LanguageCert, or TOEIC) or MOI letter from your university registrar if claiming waiver.
  • Standardised test scorecard, GMAT or GRE for MBA. PhD candidates may be asked for GMAT 650+.
  • LTP personality assessment completion, administered by Nyenrode after Osiris access.
  • Passport-size photographs in the standard biometric format.
  • Financial proof showing access to at least €11,143 (around ₹12 Lakhs) for one year of living costs. Required for the visa step, not for the admission decision.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Acceptance Rate

Nyenrode does not publish an official institutional acceptance rate. Third-party admissions trackers estimate the rate at 20 to 25%, based on the school’s small annual cohort sizes (typically 30 to 40 students per program) and the multi-stage screening process (application, LTP, interview).

Why is Nyenrode selective?

The school operates as the only independent business university in the Netherlands, with a residential castle-campus model that physically caps cohort size. Acceptance turns on three signals: academic record, motivation and fit demonstrated in the interview, and LTP personality profile. Standardised test scores matter most for the MBA (GMAT 555+) and as confirmation for masters.

What Boosts an Indian Applicant’s Odds at Nyenrode?

Apply early in the cycle (BBA and MSc first deadline, not final). Submit a specific motivation letter that ties your career goals to Nyenrode’s stewardship and entrepreneurship pillars. For the MBA, surface measurable managerial impact (team size, P&L responsibility, project scope) rather than general role descriptions. Indian applicants refining their motivation letter often read Indian alumni reviews of Nyenrode to anchor specifics.

Insider note: Nyenrode’s LTP personality test is weighted alongside grades and the interview. Treat it as a structured psychometric exercise (work-style preferences, leadership style). There are no "right" answers, but inconsistent answers across the 90-minute test flag for a follow-up interview discussion.

Netherlands Student Visa for Nyenrode Business Universiteit Applicants

Indian students admitted to Nyenrode need a combined MVV (Machtiging tot Voorlopig Verblijf) entry visa and a Dutch residence permit. Nyenrode files this as a single TEV (Toegang en Verblijf) application with the IND (Immigratie- en Naturalisatiedienst) on your behalf once you accept your offer. You then collect the MVV sticker at the Dutch Embassy in New Delhi or Mumbai before travel and register the residence permit on arrival in the Netherlands.

The IND fee for the combined application is €210 (around ₹22,638), paid through Nyenrode at the point of TEV filing. Some applicants additionally pay an MVV collection fee of around €190 (around ₹20,482) at the Dutch Embassy in India. Financial proof requires evidence of at least €13,200 (around ₹14.23 Lakhs) for one academic year of living costs, held in your name or a sponsor’s name with a signed sponsor declaration. Processing typically takes 2 to 4 weeks from TEV submission. After arrival, register with the local municipality (Stichtse Vecht for Breukelen, or Amsterdam) within 5 working days to activate your residence permit and obtain a BSN (Burgerservicenummer).

2026 update: The IND TEV fee was last revised to €210 (around ₹22,638) in early 2026. The financial-proof minimum is set by the Dutch government and updated annually each January. Confirm the current year’s figure on the official IND website before transferring funds to your blocked account.

Tips for Nyenrode Business Universiteit Admissions

The following tips are drawn from Indian-applicant patterns at Nyenrode over recent cycles.

  • Hit the first deadline (15 January): BBA and MSc final-round applicants face thinner cohort slots and lose first call on scholarship review.
  • Pick the right test path for MBA: GMAT 555 is the lowest accepted score, but competitive applicants score 620+. GRE 157 is the cleaner path if you already have a Verbal-strong GRE in hand.
  • Skip GMAT with LTP: Nyenrode’s in-house LTP Competence Test (€235, around ₹25,330) substitutes for GMAT or GRE for MBA. Useful if your standardised test prep timeline is tight.
  • Lead the motivation letter with stewardship: Nyenrode’s brand pillars are leadership, stewardship, and entrepreneurship. Quote them explicitly and tie each to a personal example.
  • Request the MOI letter early: Indian university registrars often take 3 to 4 weeks to issue Medium of Instruction letters. Trigger the request before you start the application.
  • Plan the blocked-account deposit: The Dutch financial-proof requirement of €13,200 (around ₹14.23 Lakhs) is a hard floor. Banks ask for the full 12 months’ deposit before the visa filing.

Nyenrode Business Universiteit Admissions Checklist

The following timeline-anchored steps cover what Indian applicants typically complete before submitting to Nyenrode.

  • 12 weeks before deadline: Sit IELTS or TOEFL. Request the MOI letter from your Indian university if claiming the English waiver.
  • 10 weeks before: Sit GMAT or GRE if applying to the MBA. Otherwise schedule the Nyenrode LTP Competence Test.
  • 8 weeks before: Request academic transcripts, degree certificate, and consolidated mark sheet from your university registrar.
  • 6 weeks before: Brief two referees (academic for BBA and MSc, professional for MBA) and share your draft motivation letter for context.
  • 4 weeks before: Submit the online application and pay the €175 (around ₹18,865) application fee for BBA or MSc.
  • 2 weeks before: Complete the LTP personality assessment and confirm interview availability via Osiris.
  • On offer acceptance: Pay the tuition deposit, open the Dutch blocked account, and authorise Nyenrode to file the TEV visa application.

Indian applicants who plan to read the full Nyenrode profile should treat 15 January 2027 as the real cutoff and the MOI waiver as the cleanest English-requirement path. The Impact MBA Full-time targets mid-career applicants. Fresh Bachelor’s graduates should route through the MSc in Management instead.

Overview

I want to do my masters in the Netherlands because of less language barrier and the quality of education provided by this country. Moreover, SPJIMR is the cherry on the cake. So, it made sense for me to take up these universities.

Scholarship

Since, this is a partnership between SPJIMR, Mumbai, and Nyenrode Business University, each student receives a scholarship of approximately 6000€ (not very sure).
