The University of Rostock is one of the first classical universities and has seen many modern renovations and additions since in order to keep their innovative strength and modern thought process intact. University of Rostock International Admissions
The following requirements are mandatory for admission at the University of Rostock
Application Portal: All applicants must apply through the online application portal UNI-ASSIST
University entrance qualification: To study at the University of Rostock, one of the following qualifications must be submitted-
- University entrance qualification (Abitur)
- Specialized university entrance qualification
- first professional qualification
- career advancement courses that lead to general higher education entrance qualification
- entrance exam results
Admission requirements: An applicant must meet the following requirements to complete the application process-
- Official Transcripts: the University of Rostock requires all its applicants to submit their official transcripts translated either into German or English. All official transcripts must be duly attested.
- These attestations have to be made by any official authority that carries an official seal including administrative bodies, notaries, municipal administration, churches, German diplomatic missions or embassies to name a few.
- Proof of Pre-check: This applies only to applicants hailing from China, Vietnam, and Mongolia where the applicants have to submit a proof of pre-check of the German embassy
- Curriculum Vitae: The applicants are required to submit a well-updated curriculum vitae during the admission process
- Proof of payment of uni-assist: The application process remains incomplete if the application fee for the uni-assist is not paid and the proof of the payment has to be submitted as a final step of the application process
University of Rostock Language Proficiency Requirements
All international students are required to prove their proficiency in German and English on a certain level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ( CEFR ). Although the University of Rostock recommends all its prospective students to have German skills, applicants who enroll themselves in courses instructed in English are exempted from this.
However, it is mandatory for such students to prove their proficiency in English. The English Language Proficiency tests accepted and Requirements are given in the table below:
University of Rostock Graduate Admissions
The University of Rostock offers a variety of graduate programs that are taught in German and English language. This section discusses the requirements for seeking admission into the graduate programs offered by the University of Rostock.
Application Portal: Application for graduate programs are accepted via Uni-assist.
General Admission Requirements:
- Completed application form
- Bachelor degree
- Academic transcripts of the Bachelor degree
- Proof of English language proficiency
- Copy of passport
Subject-specific requirements: Based on the chosen course, the additional requirements for the submission of the application might vary. Some courses also require the students to be proficient in course specified foreign languages in addition to German even though the course might be instructed in German. The deadline for application for a majority of the programs is July 15 of every academic year. All the applicants should note that the University of Rostock does not accept more than one application. In case of submission of multiple applications, the university considers the last application applied before the deadline as the only application.
