Carnegie Mellon (Tepper) ranks at lower position than Cornell’s Johnson Graduate School of Management, as per FT MBA ranking of 2020. However, its rank has been significantly improving since past 3 years and it jumped from 40 in 2018 to 31 in 2020. On the other hand, Cornell’s Johnson ranking dropped from 17 in 2018 to 23 in 2020.
International community of Tepper School of Business is much more stronger with over 45% of MBA class comprising of foreign student whereas in case of Johnson Graduate School of Management, only 35% of the MBA class is represented by international students.
Cornell’s Johnson MBA graduates get more opportunities in finance, consultancy and e-commerce sectors. MBA graduates of Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper get employment options in more diverse sectors such as consultancy, healthcare, IT, finance and e-commerce.
Thus, it is very evident that although Johnson Graduate School of Management ranks better, Tepper School of Business is more viable option for pursuing MBA from USA.
