This program prepares graduates for an exciting career in the field of Information Technology Infrastructure support and administration. Graduate employability is significantly enhanced by in-depth training in a broad range of business, computer and people skills that are in high demand across many industries. Rapid problem solving through the application of critical thinking is an emphasis throughout the program. Program focus is on the practical application of skills and knowledge to install, configure and troubleshoot workstation and server computers, networks and cloud environments. This includes operating systems, infrastructure, network services, database systems, messaging systems and IoT. Practical work is completed on industry standard hardware and software encountered in the workplace. Through their education in this program, students will gain a solid foundation to challenge industry certification exams in the areas of operating system support, networking and virtualization should they so choose. The optional co-op stream includes one co-op work term.

They will also be able to bridge into the third year of the Business Administration – Management program, complete an 8-month post-graduate certificate, or bridge into the second year of the BBA – International Business Management degree program (subject to a 70% program average).

Location Facts

Located on the corner of West 5th Street and Fennell Avenue, Fennell Campus is the main campus for Mohawk College. Other campus is located at Mississauga campus. There are different centers of the college like Institute of Applied Health Sciences at Mcmaster and Ogwehoweh skills and trades training center. 


Conestoga College has campuses and training centres located in Brantford, Cambridge, Guelph, Ingersoll, Kitchener, Stratford and Waterloo, Ontario. 

Conestoga's newest campus in Milton is scheduled to open in 2024.


Library

Mohawk Library supports students, faculty and staff by fostering academic success through innovative spaces, services and collections that are accessible, inclusive and responsive. The college has three libraries at Fennel campus, Stony Creek campus and at the IAHS campus. 


The Conestoga College's Library supports the development of undergraduate students into prospective researchers and houses the essential academic resources for graduate students and teachers.

  • The library is a welcoming environment where collaboration, innovative thinking, and intellectual engagement are given the resources, encouragement, and chance to improve the world. The Conestoga university Library is dedicated to offering materials and services that satisfy the community of Conestoga's informational, pedagogical, and educational needs.
  • Twenty-five thousand twenty-seven books make up the library's collection; every year, the library circulates 9,000 items. The library serves 11,577 FTE Enrollment.
  • The Conestoga College community can congregate and research in the library because it is a welcoming, easily accessible space. Both quiet study spaces and gathering spots are available.
  • The library is open during the academic year to serve late-night students until midnight. Strong subject representation in business and management, engineering, mathematics, nursing, & physics & chemistry is provided via our library collections.
  • To help students with most of the student information requirements, the library also offers a skilled staff of librarians.
  • Student support services offer advice and treatment for student health issues, referrals, and health information for mental, physical, and sexual/reproductive health.
  • Various campus partners will be present at the Hot Desk during Student Connect. These organizations might collaborate on special student opportunities, activities, projects, or resources.

Student Life fosters meaningful relationships and personal development by providing students with intentional experiences and services in a fun, inclusive learning environment. Fennell Campus has undergone the largest renovation in Mohawk history. Re-designed as a welcoming place to live and learn, the renewal has created a modernized space while enhancing energy efficiency, barrier-free access and more. The college provides both on campus and off campus accommodations. There are also many on campus dining options. There is a healthy range of sport and fitness activities available through Mohawk College. From its David Braley Athletics and Recreation Centre to the 13 Varsity sport teams the college offers a wide selection of fun-and-fitness-for-all Intramural programs. Mohak college also offers transportation facilities through its partnerships. 


Conestoga College allows students to learn and develop in a stimulating environment with on-campus accommodation.

City Life

From the annual SuperCrawl music and art festival that attracts over 200,000 people every year to a thriving music scene, Hamilton offers a vibrant array of activities and cultural events. As well, Hamilton offers movie theatres, concert and theatre venues, sports teams and much more. It’s easy to find out what’s going on in Hamilton through an online search. Hamilton’s main newspaper, the Hamilton Spectator, maintains a helpful current calendar of events and activities in the area. There are various transportation facilities available in the city like taxi, train services, bicycle rentals, local bus service and long distance bus services. 


Kitchener is one of three of the ‘Tri-Cities’ located snugly between Waterloo and Cambridge. It’s also just 100km away from Ontario’s capital Toronto, which can be reached in around an hour by car, or from two to three hours by train or bus for only a small fee, which is obviously a massive plus for those who don’t drive.

Kitchener is a fantastic place to live for people who like to explore their surroundings without worrying about getting stuck in the wilderness with an unemployment rate at 11%
