Comparison Notes

Cranfield School of Management is the business school of Cranfield University, which is otherwise primarily STEM-focused. Warwick University offers most subjects, including MBA, which it offers through the Warwick Business School. This is how the MBA courses at the two business schools vary:

  • Both schools have triple accreditation of AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. In addition to that, Cranfield is a GMAC member, and Warwick is the first UK business school to receive the Athena SWAN Silver Award for gender equality.
  • 33 nationalities are represented at Warwick whereas only 18 are represented at Cranfield.
  • Over 12 months at Warwick, students participate in an intensive boot camp, cover around 8 required modules, go on an international trip, learn 4 out of 6 elective modules, and conduct an individual consultancy project for a business organization.
  • The 13 months at Cranfield is divided into mainly two parts, with the first part covering 15 core modules, and a group consultancy project, and the second part comprising three other core modules including an International Business Assignment, followed by seven electives and finally either an internship or a company-based project.
  • Cranfield offers more scholarships than Warwick. Cranfield even has the Regional India Scholarship set up to provide 10,000 GBP to an Indian student.
  • Cranfield University, originally founded as College of Aeronautics, on its campus has its own airport, two hotels, apartment blocks, recreation facilities and an adjoining Technology Park.
  • Warwick, on the other hand, is closer to the countryside and hence has wilderness trails and lots of green spaces. All necessities like banks, supermarkets, restaurants, sports facilities, accommodation blocks, and even theatres are available at a short walking distance.

Warwick is more well-known globally than Cranfield and even ranks better. Even though it offers a good program, Cranfield is not much recognized outside the UK, so prospective students are advised to go for Warwick.
