- Bioinformatics combines biology, biochemistry, mathematics, statistics, and computer science for analyzing and understanding the biochemical processes of life.
- If students’ passion is understanding biological processes, genetics, or diseases using biological information, this program would suit well.
- Students will learn specialized computational techniques for storing, visualizing, and analyzing data generated from genome sequencing projects and technologies for determining gene expression and protein structures.
- Students will be able to deduce information about an organism from its genome.
- Basic principles and techniques of nucleic acid manipulations used in molecular biology and biotechnology are presented.
- Students will also learn to use major proteomic and genomic databases, to utilize bioinformatics software toolboxes, and write simple bioinformatics programs in a scripting language.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Applicants should have 12 class grades and a minimum grade of 70% is required in each of these courses: Foundations of Mathematics 30 or Pre-Calculus 30
- Proof of English proficiency may be required for international applicants, whose first language is not English.
- Admission is offered on an ongoing basis until all seats are filled.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS or TOEFL to get admission to this program.
Indian Student Eligibility:
- The student has graduated from senior secondary school or equivalent (those applying for a postgraduate program must have graduated from a university or college).
- Minimum 4 major subjects in 12th Grade, including English, with an average of 70% and no course less than 65%.
