- The Bachelor in Engineering in Bioengineering will provide students with the ability to apply systematic knowledge of biology, physical sciences, and mathematics, and sound engineering foundations in order to solve problems of a biological nature.
- It also prepares students for the broad area of bioengineering, incorporating both biology-focused biological engineering and medicine-focused biomedical engineering.
- Students will acquire fundamental knowledge in bioengineering-related natural sciences and mathematics, as well as in the foundations of general engineering and bioengineering.
- The Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng) program had become accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB).
- Students will also acquire knowledge in one area of specialization of bioengineering:
- biological materials and biomechanics
- biomolecular and cellular engineering
- biological information and computation
- Bioengineering uses analytical methods to quantitatively describe biology. It also draws upon the sophistication of living systems as a tool to design and create. This very rapidly growing research area covers a broad range of topics, such as materials science, biomedical applications, biophysics, molecular biology, and environmental engineering

A four-year bachelor’s degree is typically required to apply for graduate admission at McGill University. However, the university also somtimes accepts applications from students who have completed a three-year bachelor’s degree on a case-by-case basis. However, meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee admission to the program, as admission decisions are highly competitive and based on a holistic review of each students’s credentials.
