What Students Say
Likes
- I liked the place along with the university, so that was a big factor
- The campus facilities and resources also contribute to a fulfilling college experience, providing ample opportunities for research, collaboration, and community engagement. Overall, I value the sense of belonging and the rich learning experiences. it can be overwhelming at first but you find your path in your own time.
Dislikes
- while the campus community is generally supportive, I've noticed occasional instances where issues related to diversity and inclusion could be addressed more proactively.
Required Exams for Admission
I would define my experience overall to be enriching. It is safe to say that in my journey at UBC, I have become more self-reliant and independent and most of all learned how to manage and allocate time to important tasks. All of this is still a work in progress, but definitely moving in the right direction.
Course Curriculum
it is pretty practical and updated to the work environment we are in currently.
Faculty
I am in the business school of UBC called Sauder School of Business
Campus Life
Campus life is fun, a lot of fun events take place weekly for people to participate in and feel like a part of a community both socially and academically.
Placement
It is relatively harder to secure full-time roles post under graduation since the job market in Canada is pretty bad right now, but it's definitely not impossible. Networking, making connections in the industry is quite an important aspect of this.
Accommodation
Student housing is the cheapest accommodation option while at UBC, the rent is a decent price compared to off campus housing/accomodations.
Exams
IELTS, Board result and expected scores.(I don't exactly remember my IELTS score but it was either 8 or 8.5, my expected scores were all 95 and my board result was 94%). I submitted LORs. Should mostly focus on the work ethic, discipline and hard work to establish some credibility for the student. Interview round: Yes, I had asynchronous interviews where you have to think on the spot, my suggestion to ace this is to try and be as candid as you can. Don't try to cover all points in the limited time frame, instead take your time and expand on fewer points (it'll seem a lot more thorough). Try to be yourself (easier said than done;))
Fees
Yearly tuition fee mostly ranges between $45,000-$55,000 CAD
Scholarship
Sauder International Student Award (Merit-based Scholarship, $15000)
