MacEwan University- Alberta’s hidden gem

The overall experience is nice. Very less students from abroad though. The infrastructure is very good. Quality of education is also updated every time. I am satisfied but the only problem is job placement and lack of job availability as a student and even after graduation.

MacEwan University is known for its business programs in Edmonton. The quality is amazing and engaging. You have to do projects and exams both equally. They try to give real life management experience.

The best thing is that they have multiple professors to choose from. Students select the professor they want to learn from and select the class timings according to that. The faculty is very very big. Some of the famous and best professors are: 1. Bruce thompson (organization courses) 2. Sandy mullane (accounting and finance) 3. Cody esih (statistics) 4. Humayun qadri (finance)

More than 10 clubs to join. Great campus life Massive library and around 6 eating options including tim hortons my favourite. Activities are always there like competitions and games and all that.

Honestly, placement infrastructure is very bad. It is not the university, it is because job market in Alberta is very very poor. A lot of companies come at career fair but it is just a means of advertising and marketing. Not a lot of students are placed from university.

Average rental is around $600 but cheaper options are always available I live with my brother so I don’t pay rent. University hostel is also available for $900 per month but I am not exactly sure about prices.

IELTS overall and individual 6.0 band+ Class 12 English and Maths If you don’t have +2 Maths from India, university will teach you this in first two semesters and if you don’t pass, you will be expelled from the course. This is called International student bridging category. The maths is of grade 11 and grade 12 of Alberta education system. Not required for the university specifically, but SoP is required generally to ircc as you are aware. The content is honestly about how it is connected to your previous education and what are you looking for with this course and how important it is for your career. Please don’t forget to link your previous education with this course. Linking even just few courses of the Canadaian course with your career goal will be fine. You just have to make sure that it makes sense with your life goal.

Around $23,000 CAD per year (2 semesters) So in 1 year you have 2 semesters Your total tuition fees is 46,000 CAD for overall program of 2 year consisting of 20 courses (60 credits in total).
