- Fees were very low and the cost of living in Kingston is very affordable.
- I understood the true value of Queen's after I graduated. Queen's has a fantastic alumni network that works towards helping their felow grads be successful.
- In Canada, Queen's is perceived as a prestigious univsersity and it holds true in terms of job hunts. The engineering school is above average with good programs to choose from. My mechanical engineering program was flexible in terms of the courses I could choose. Queen's, located in Kingston has the perfect student-university vibe that I loved. It at the same time was just 2.5 hrs from both Toronto and Ottawa. The fees and cost of Living at Queen's was very low.
Dislikes
- I had a rough experience at queen's because I had to go through COVID while studying there. Neverthless, the online courses were just as good and impactful. Queen's and Kingston in general didn't have a vibrant Indian community that left me feeling a bit disenfranchised at times. The University also provides little to no help for placements and career opportunities.
Required Exams for Admission
The overall experience was bitter sweet, bitter because we had to go through Covid while at Queen's, sweet because of the opportunities that it opened up for me later.
Course Curriculum
It was okay, no industrial or research exposure for the program I did.
Faculty
My class had very few students, compared to my classes in India. It ranged from 5-20.
Campus Life
It's top notch.
Placement
It's very good. Placements aren't the university's responsibility. They don't put out statistics.
Accommodation
I took an apartment with a friend and paid $600 a month.
Exams
My scores: GRE 314; IELTS 8.5; Class minimum score: I don't know. They always evaluate the full application package that they require you to provide. We had to create an application package with an SOP, contact details for an LOR and a thorough CV.
Fees
$27,000.
