- Durham College is known for its student diversity and inclusion. The teachers are friendly and deliver courses with personalized attention. The course modules are well-structured and cater to the individual needs of students.
Dislikes
- Durham College offers almost zero placements when it comes to landing jobs after graduation. Thus, students have a hard time finding relevant jobs once passing out. I personally think the college has a lot to work on when it comes to student job support.
Required Exams for Admission
My experience at Durham College was pretty great. The teachers were friendly and the courses were well-designed to allow us to learn about each and every aspect of Digital Media Management. We had students from different countries which added to the diversity. Overall, I would recommend future students to definitely check out Durham College if they are considering Canada as their study destination.
Course Curriculum
The course curriculum is well-designed for students who want to land a professional job right after they graduate. I had to intern for a local brand as part of my course curriculum which gave me industrial exposure.
Faculty
The faculty at Durham College consists of experienced professors who guide students with their excellent mentoring skills. The faculty-to-student ratio would be 1:25. One professor who left an impact on me would be Edna who inspired me to give my best at this course named Personal Branding.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty exciting. The college offers a gymnasium for students, along with a health club and medical check-ups from time to time. They also have a huge library where students can get access to learning resources.
Placement
My course did not have any post-study placement options, which is the only negative aspect I felt about the course and college.
Accommodation
My accommodation facility was provided by the college itself. I had to pay a monthly rent of CAD 800. I got free wifi, heating and water.
Exams
My admission requirement was getting a band of 6.5 in IELTS. I scored a band of 7.5. I had to submit an SOP stating why I want to study at Durham College. The key points I mentioned in my SOP were: * My reason for choosing Durham College * My reason for choosing my particular course * My reason for choosing Canada as my study destination
Fees
My total tuition fee was CAD 10,000.
Scholarship
I got a scholarship of CAD 1000 for scoring a band of 7.5 in my IELTS. The scholarship was automatically added to my student account once I submitted my IELTS score.
