What Students Say

- The location enticed me. The reviews and the alumni of the college really appreciated it. The reviews of the faculty also encouraged me to choose this college.
- The best thing about Durham College is its readily available help resources. We have SALS for resume, GET HIRED for helping to find part time and full time job roles. The best thing about Durham is it provides you with DRT (Durham Transit Pass) which most of the colleges or universities does not offer.
- DRT allows you to use the transit which covers 7 regions across going as far as Ajax and Uxbridge. The faculty at Durham has practical experience and has hands on knowledge about what they are teaching. They are also ready to help apart from the schooling hours. Durham also provides for extra classes and is always ready to help. It also celebrated multi- cultural festivals like Holi which felt very inclusive and friendly. The Campus is enormous and beautiful. It has a trail at the back of the college too.
Dislikes
- There is nothing to dislike about the College. The college is so big that it takes time to figure out where are the classes and to reach the classes as well but the time tables are made as such that they give time to reach to different classrooms.
Required Exams for Admission
My overall experience at college/university has been incredibly enjoyable. It's been a time of personal growth, learning, and building lasting friendships. The fun experiences, from making new friends to exploring various aspects of academia and campus life, have enriched my journey and made it memorable.
Course Curriculum
Yes, we had a co-op too for one month. Regarding the course curriculum and relevance, I found that the core HRM courses provided a solid foundation in the field. They covered essential topics such as recruitment, employee relations, and HR strategy. However, I would appreciate more frequent updates to the curriculum to ensure it stays aligned with the rapidly changing HR landscape. HR is a field that continually evolves due to factors like technological advancements and shifts in workforce demographics, so a curriculum that reflects these changes would be beneficial.
Faculty
The faculty at our institution is highly esteemed, known for their expertise and practical knowledge. They maintain a commendable faculty-to-student ratio, ensuring a conducive learning environment. They are approachable, open to questions and discussions, and provide mentorship to students. Many faculty members engage in cutting-edge research, enhancing our academic experience. Their dedication, commitment, and passion for teaching have a positive impact on students' development. While I can't name specific professors, the faculty collectively brings a wealth of knowledge and diverse perspectives to our campus, enriching our educational journey.
Campus Life
Campus life at our institution is vibrant and engaging. We have a wide range of clubs, events, and extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests. Whether you're into sports, arts, culture, or community service, there's something for everyone. Our campus regularly hosts events such as festivals celebrating various cultures like Holi, Diwali nights, barbeque nights, and patio days, creating a lively and inclusive atmosphere. Additionally, campus tours provide an opportunity to explore our facilities, which include well-equipped research facilities, libraries with extensive resources, and reliable WiFi connectivity. For sports enthusiasts, our sports facilities offer opportunities to stay active and competitive. Overall, our campus provides a fun and enriching experience both inside and outside the classroom.
Placement
The program's post-study placement and research opportunities can vary. It depends on factors like the companies that come to campus for hiring and the types of jobs they offer. Many students want to know how many of their peers get jobs after graduation, and some inquire about the average salary. Having a helpful career services office and support for things like resume building and interview practice is important for a smooth job search. To get specific details about your program, it's best to contact your school's career services department. They can provide information about companies that visit, job placement rates, and typical salaries for graduates.
