Required Exams for Admission

IELTS (7)
GRE (290)

It was an amazing experience, especially since it was completely different from how the education scene is in India. You are responsible for yourself and your career. Seniors and mentors can only guide you, but you will be the one steering. There is a diversity in the professors as there is in the students. The campus is huge and beautiful.

Course Curriculum

8

The course curriculum was updated to include the latest developments in the field. Research was a part of my course since it was a graduate study course.

Faculty

8

For my course, there was no fixed faculty to student ratio since it depends on the professor and the student. However, all the professors were very approachable and friendly and quite well-versed in their own fields of study.

Campus Life

9

There are around 21 libraries and WiFi available everywhere. There is a huge stadium and running track. There is an aquatic centre with an Olympic size swimming pool. There are gym facilities available and there are quite a lot of committees in every department. There are also many campus-wide events happening every month.

Placement

8

There are career fairs organized on campus for networking and placements. However, there are no placement drives taking place. So, placements are dependent on individual students. There are certain programs which offer co-op opportunities, which can convert into full-time jobs once the course completes.

Accommodation

Off Campus
8

I was living in a basement apartment off campus about 40 min from the university. There were public transport facilities available, so it was not a huge issue. The infrastructure is quite good and the facilities like laundry and grocery store are also all available within walking distance. There are banks available on campus. The cost for my accommodation was $825 + utilities per person.

Exams

My scores GRE 2018 : 320 (165 Quant 155 Verbal and 4.5 AWA) IELTS 2017 : 8.5 Class minimum score GRE 290; IELTS 6.5 SOP - about my previous experiences, motivation behind pursuing the course and choice of university. 3 LORs and CV I got admitted without having a professor back me. However, I was required to mention my choice of 3 professors who I'd like to become my guide.

Fees

About $8000 per year.

Scholarship

I got the International Tuition Award which was automatically applied as soon as I applied. It was valued at around $3200. I also got an entrance scholarship of $2000, which was given by the department without any separate application.
