- UNSW Master of Engineering Science (Water Engineering: Catchments to Coast), is a two-year full-time or part-time equivalent postgraduate degree at Australia’s top engineering faculty.
- This degree is for students who’ve completed a recognised undergraduate degree or have relevant professional experience and want to re-train, specialise or deepen their knowledge in the field.
- At UNSW Engineering we’re focused on working with and harnessing natural resources to create human solutions that benefit both humanity and the environment. We’ll give you the skills and knowledge to engineer a better future.
- This degree is designed for practising Water Engineers and graduates pursuing career in large-scale water engineering. You’ll develop knowledge and skills in the full cycle of water in natural and engineered systems.
- You can tailor this degree to your own passion and career aspirations as you undertake an extensive research project in a specific area of interest to you. Through this project you’ll learn valuable skills in project planning and management and the critical analysis, interpretation and communication of results.
- In this postgraduate degree you’ll develop advanced analysis and design skills from industry leaders in areas of large-scale Water Engineering such as:
- Surface water hydrology
- Urban hydrology and stormwater management
- Catchment and water resources modelling
- Hydrodynamics of rivers and estuaries
- Groundwater investigations
- Estuary and port engineering
- Coastal and marine engineering
- Total Units of Credit (UOC) : 96

- At least 4 Advanced Disciplinary Courses
- At least 1 Engineering and Technical Management Course
- Through the Disciplinary and Advanced Disciplinary Knowledge courses you’ll learn the technical knowledge and skills you need for your chosen specialisation.
- You’ll also update your knowledge in cutting-edge developments in your area of interest.
- Engineering and Technical Management courses help you build skills in communicating and justifying professional decisions, employing ethical approaches to practice, and developing the abilities required for roles more focused on project and or staff management, leadership and strategy.
- At least 3 enquiry-based courses (which includes a research project)
- At least 4 elective courses (across Disciplinary, Advanced Disciplinary and Engineering and Technical Management courses)
