The quality of education and the location. It is ranked amongst the top 50 universities for the medicine program. Sydney also offers an environment to learn and have fun at the same time. As an international student safety was also one of my priorities.

Course Curriculum

7

The course is well structured. Medicine programs around the world are quite long and thus are often very tedious to follow. The 6-year program allows for students to space out their work and learn other small courses in the middle as well.

Exams

International Student Admissions Test 2016: 179, University year 1: WAM 88, University year 2: WAM 80.

Placement

7

Medicine is one of the fields with high job security. Most graduates tend to get a job if they are willing to go a bit more rural. However, opportunities are limited for international students. With the internship crisis on the rise, it is a challenge for internationals to stay back for an internship or a couple of years of experience

Internship

N/A, our college doesn't provide internship on its own but they facilitate internships for us in Clinical schools including Liverpool, Sutherland, Bankstown, St George, Prince of Whales and St Vincent's.

Events

8

UNSW gives a lot of importance for diversity and inclusivity. Events like Pink day for women and Maddie grad for the LGBTQIA community are celebrated on a big scale. UNSW played a major role in the Amaris Gras this year, showing public support to the diverse communities on campus

Fees

The fee structure varies between courses, your visa or residential status and scholarship availability, mine was very different due to the scholarship.

Scholarship

Yes, I have organized it by my gov. I had to speak to the agents back in SL, meet the conditional requirements and with the support of the country got a school.

Examination Structure

The course is structured in a way that it is split into 3 phases of two years each. The exam structure varies largely between the phases. Phase 1, for example, is very content heavy and theory focused and thus has exams every 8 weeks or so, whilst phase 3 is practically based on one big exam at the end of the year.

Faculty

7

The medical faculty is well organized and cares about its students. They arrange our timetables for us and organize classes not only on campus but also in clinical schools around Sydney

Hostel

8

On campus worked for me better because I had classes every single day of the week for at least 3 hours a day. There is a range of accommodation options according to convenience. I live in a shared apartment which is not too costly and lets me enjoy a shared living experience.
