The Adolescent to Young Adult (AYA) program includes 7 majors: Integrated Language Arts, Integrated Mathematics, Integrated Social Studies, Integrated Science, Earth/Space Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. Regardless of the college of the university from which you will graduate, if you wish to be licensed through Ohio University to teach integrated language arts, you must complete the following program and earn passing scores on the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAE) and a Teacher Performance Assessment (TPA). This major prepares you for an Ohio four-year Resident Educator teaching license that qualifies you to teach English and language arts courses in grades 7-12.
