Rolling admissions. Admission of applicants for fall semester begins on July 1 of the preceding year and are encouraged to apply during the fall of the preceding year of their entry to university. Admission for other terms begins approximately 12 months prior to the beginning of the term.

Agriculture and life sciences education is very diverse. It includes all aspects of sciences related to animal science, agricultural research, business management, communications, finance, food and fiber production and processing, international trade, marketing, mechanics, natural resource management, plant and soil science, product development, public policy, sales, wildlife, and more.
Non-teaching careers include:
- 4-H Youth or Agricultural Extension Agent
- administration of public relations programs
- sales and service
- government agencies, (SCS, ASCS, FmHA, etc.)
- public service organizations (i.e., Farm Bureau, livestock / crop commodity boards)
- Peace Corps, agricultural missionary, or similar work with other international agencies
