?The Department fosters an environment of inquiry and use of best evidence in the preparation of graduates for leadership in nursing practice within an interprofessional health team to provide care in a pluralistic society. The Department serves as an intellectual center dedicated to nursing knowledge development and nursing science.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program admits up to 192 students per year; and students can expect to complete the degree in 4 to 4 1/2 years because each student admitted to the program completes the nursing courses in a "cohort" group. Generally, students take 1 1/2 to 2 years to complete general education and prenursing classes and then 2 1/2 years of nursing courses.
