Troy University?s ITP also offers an American Sign Language (ASL) minor, which can benefit any student?s chosen major, especially students majoring in nursing, rehabilitation, psychology, education and criminal justice. Students can become more marketable with ASL listed as a skill. TROY?s ASL minor consists of six courses of foundation ASL and basic knowledge of the profession of interpreting.

The College of Education also offers the Master Mentor Program as a dual track for nationally certified, experienced interpreters. Upon graduation, students who have pursued this track will receive a degree in interpreter training as well as a Master Mentor certificate. This program is also available to students as a continuing education unit (CEU) in a non-degree seeking alternative.

TROY?s faculty and staff are committed to supporting you throughout your studies. ITP courses can be taken on the University?s Troy Campus, through TROY Online or in a blended approach if you live geographically close to Troy, Alabama, and wish to take some courses online and some on campus.

Through studying within TROY?s interpreter training program, you?ll:

  • Prepare to sit for national certification testing after graduation.
