- The Master of Arts (M.A.) in International Studies with a concentration in Latino and Latin American studies is administered by El Instituto.
- In this program, students engage in interdisciplinary study and research related to Latina/o, Caribbean, and Latin American worlds and can focus their studies in one of three broad areas: U.S. Latina/o Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Comparative Transnational Latin(o) American Studies.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
- A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the entire undergraduate career.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree from India, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, or certain other countries, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Indian Eligibility:
- Students are required to submit a 4-year undergraduate degree with 70% or above from the recognized university or college.
- If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
