  • The University of Connecticut offers a Master of Science (MS) program in Physiology and Neurobiology that provides students with a strong foundation in the principles of physiology and neurobiology, and prepares them for careers in academia, industry, or healthcare.
  • The program is designed for students who have a strong background in biological sciences and are interested in pursuing graduate studies in physiology and neurobiology. Students take courses in a variety of topics, including neurophysiology, molecular biology, cellular physiology, and systems neuroscience.
  • In addition to coursework, students in the program have the opportunity to conduct research in state-of-the-art laboratories under the guidance of experienced faculty members. The research projects cover a broad range of topics, from the molecular mechanisms of synaptic transmission to the neural basis of behavior.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must hold a baccalaureate degree or its equivalent from a regionally accredited college or university.
  • A cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 for the entire undergraduate career.
  • If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree from India, Canada, Australia, Sri Lanka, or certain other countries, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.

Indian Eligibility:

  • Students are required to submit a 4-year undergraduate degree with 70% or above from the recognized university or college.
  • If a student's degree is a 3-year bachelor’s degree, the University of Connecticut will not consider the degree to be equivalent to a 4 year US bachelor’s degree.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test to get admission to this program.
