The first year of the program parallels that of Design. First year classes include Introduction to Drawing, 2D Design, 3D design, Figure Drawing, Visual History, Scenography, Drafting, Technical Production I and Introduction to Pattern Drafting. These classes insure all design/tech students finish the first year with the same professional vocabulary and expectations. The first year production experiences include work as a crew member, design assistant and wardrobe manager.

The second year includes literature, design and skill driven classes. These classes include Theatre History, Major Dramatists, Fundamentals of Design, Rendering, Crew Management, Costume Construction, Draping and Pattern Drafting. The second year production experiences include work as a draper, design assistant and crafts head.

The third year includes both skill driven classes as well as the opportunity to study design, study abroad or explore an internship. Costume Construction as an art form is quite limited without the investigation and appreciation of visual design. Consequently costume construction students are encouraged to take design classes such as Costume Design I, Scene Design I, Lighting Design I, Makeup Design I and Scene Painting I as well as Millinery and Corset Construction. The third year production experiences include work as a milliner, design assistant and head draper.

The fourth year also offers the opportunity to study abroad or explore an internship. The fourth year classes include Costume Design II, Scene Design II, Lighting Design II, Scene Painting II, Makeup Design II, Fabric Painting and Dyeing, Tailoring or Textiles. The fourth year production experiences include work as a painter dyer, tailor, design assistant and head draper.
