It’s not business as usual at Rochester. Our undergraduate program builds on the principles of statistics, economics, and other social sciences. You also learn about business-related disciplines such as finance, accounting, marketing, operations management, and organization theory.

Both the BS and BA degrees in business build on the principles of economics and statistics. They are designed to provide you with an analytical approach for addressing current as well as future opportunities and challenges in for-profit organizations, not-for-profit organizations, and graduate school.

The BS degree in business requires more courses and for you to select a specialized track. This is the best option for you if you’re interested in studying a business discipline in greater depth.

Requirements for a BS with a major in business:

• Satisfactory completion of prerequisite in calculus (AP/IB Credit is fine and courses are not subject to the College’s overlap policy)

• Core set of nine required courses

• Six courses in the discipline selected for the track

• The upper-level writing requirement is satisfied by the courses GBA 220W and GBA 221W
