Chemistry plays a central role in both basic and applied scientific research in many fields. Most chemists work in interdisciplinary environments that interface with biology, engineering, physics and material sciences.

The curriculum provides a broad base of knowledge in traditional areas of chemical endeavor, specifically analytical, inorganic, organic, physical, and biochemistry. Dominican?s chemistry major will prepare you for entry-level employment in analytical, manufacturing, health sciences, and pharmaceutical businesses. In addition, a chemistry major will put you in in a good position for entry into graduate school. Further opportunities exist in secondary education, the health science professions?and patent law.
