The 5-8 emphasis prepares the recipient for licensure at the Late Childhood through Early Adolescence (middle school) level.
The Department of Mathematics?offers small class sizes, and our programs are adaptable to students? needs and interests.
The department fosters unique opportunities for student involvement by encouraging student participation in the Math Club/Mathematical Association of America Student Chapter, Kappa Mu Epsilon Mathematics Honor Society, Actuarial Club, Mo-Kan Council of Teachers of Mathematics, and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics. In addition, the department hosts a problem solving group and provides opportunities for one-on-one research with faculty members. ?
The faculty members within the department have expertise in broad area of mathematics to support research at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
