The Architectural Studies - Architectural Design Technology Concentration is offered by Jefferson (Philadelphia University and Thomas Jefferson University).
Our students acquire marketable skills in the development of construction documents, bidding, and construction administration which make up 80% of the design process. The curriculum is highly customizable and versatile, emphasizing training in the latest technologies as well as real-world, problem-solving techniques and innovative solutions based on the principles of sustainability.
The first 2 years of ADT coursework are identical to our 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program, facilitating transfers between programs. Students may also elect to take graduate-level courses and tailor their experience by selecting a concentration in an area of particular interest. Our faculty of practicing professionals brings a wide range of expertise to the classroom, from business and sustainable design practices to architectural and design history. Students are trained on the most current software, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) so they can contribute this vital expertise to a design firm.
Career
Graduates are prepared for exciting, challenging careers such as project administrator, design/build manager, design firm business manager, specification writer, BIM manager and more. Our 4+1 program offers Architectural Design Technology graduates the opportunity to earn a M.S. in Geodesign, Sustainable Design or Construction Management with just one additional year of study.
