The primary purpose of this program is to produce individuals well qualified personally and professionally to perform effectively as counselors in elementary and/or secondary schools. The program is accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).Program graduates are eligible to apply for initial South Carolina state certification as school counselors provided they meet specified State Department of Education requirements offered through the program.
