Bachelor of Science [B.S] [Emergency Medical Services] From Creighton University

Creighton University’s Bachelor of Science (BS) program in Emergency Medical Services (BSEMS) combines a broad liberal arts education with comprehensive paramedic instruction. Alongside traditional coursework, you’ll participate in one full year of clinical immersion and direct patient care, where you’ll work with local fire departments and ambulance services to complete clinical shifts in area hospitals.

Outcomes

Graduates who receive current paramedic certification qualify for employment in fire/rescue departments, private ambulance services, flight services, hospitals, emergency care centers and industrial organizations. Additionally, graduates may pursue careers in education, management of EMS systems, quality assurance coordination, public relations representation for medical services organizations, industrial health services and community health education.

The hands-on paramedic training also uniquely prepares graduates for further study at the post-baccalaureate level. Graduates of the B.S. program commonly go on to attain advanced degrees in medicine and pursue careers as physicians, nurses and other types of healthcare professionals.
