Our program focuses on meaning-making and direct engagement, considering the cultural, material, historical and technical aspects of art making and education. The Art Education program develops critical thinking through culturally responsive and participatory curriculum-building approaches using contemporary artists and issues. The BFA with Teacher Certification in Art prepares students for a career teaching art in elementary, middle or high school.
