The program prepares you with experience in advertising, copy editing, electronic media, feature writing, fiction writing, layout and design, newswriting and publishing. Writing and Publishing majors also learn how to produce a feature story for a magazine and use InDesign to produce a newsletter or brochure. Publications such as The Candor student newspaper, "DuPage Arts Life," "BenedictInk" and "Quantum Pulp" are all part of a curriculum designed by both students and professors to create a hands-on learning environment. The Writing and Publishing curriculum also includes courses such as "Mass Media Law and Ethics" designed to prepare you for a career in which practitioners face a wide spectrum of ethical challenges.
