The strong and varied curriculum enhances and develops skills in written, oral, interpersonal and ?visual communication. Theoretical, historical, societal, and pragmatic ?perspectives of communication are explored in an individualized and ?challenging learning environment. Students learn real-world problem solving as ?they explore current topics such as First Amendment rights and ethica.l?The curriculum includes a core of courses that focus?on the theory, history,?principles and procedures of mass communication, public communication, and oral communication. Students plan their course study according to the specialty they choose:?
- Newspaper and Magazine journalism,?
- Electronic media for radio and TV,?
- Public Relations
- Advertising or Oral Communication
??Additional courses in interpersonal communication, communication law, communication theory, and visual communication complete the curriculum. Experience gained via student media, communication student organizations, on-campus practica, and off-campus internships provide an essential component to the curriculum.
