The Art History program at Fort Hays State University aims to provide students with a well-rounded knowledge of art within a historical and cultural framework, as well as the education and experience needed to develop their creative and critical-thinking skills.?
Courses offered range from Ancient Art History to Contemporary Art History?and everything in between! While Hays itself boasts a vibrant art scene with innumerable occasions to experience the arts, students are also encouraged to participate in travel opportunities to both domestic and international destinations to further appreciate how art and design are incorporated into our lives. Graduates from the Art History program often pursue graduate study, and go on to become instructors in the discipline, art critics, museum curators, and gallery managers, among other career paths.
