Students in the Criminal Justice program at Southeastern are prepared for careers in the criminal justice system or for advanced studies in criminal justice, law, sociology and related disciplines. They also become familiar with the nature and functions of U.S. law enforcement, the courts and corrections at the federal, state and local levels. Students learn the psychological and sociological roots of criminal behavior as well as methods that social scientists use to investigate social phenomena. Students also have the opportunity explore specific issues and topics relating to crime and criminal justice in the U.S. and other nations.
Our programs prepare students for citizenship by encouraging them to understand, tolerate and respect the vast array of cultural and intellectual differences found throughout the world.
