Spanish literature courses range from Spanish noir and detective fiction to authors such as Mariano Azuela, Carlos Fuentes, and Gabriel Garc?a M?rquez. There are also courses in Spanish film, art, and drama. Spanish majors will gain an understanding of many different Spanish-speaking cultures and acquire advanced skills in Spanish grammar and linguistics.
Students majoring in Spanish are required to participate in an approved program of study abroad. The majority of Spanish majors attend Ohio Wesleyan?s program at the University of Salamanca. Students also may take part in the Border Studies Program, which is based in El Paso, Texas/Ciudad Ju?rez, Chihuahua, M?xico. Financial aid is available for all approved programs.
